I've had an unpleasant experience with this phone. SIM activation doesn't work since upgrading form MIUI 12 to 13.

Xiaomi only get 2 years (once every 4 months) update to redmi devices, which is why they make so many redmi phones every years. If you want android 13, you'd have to buy a new redmi.

I'm having problems with this phone. The problems are: i get an ad whenever i'm booting up or restarting the phone. It doesn't bother me that much, but it's annoying, and recently, the phone has become unusable as It charges faster than it used to, but drains extremely fast, and randomly reboots itself over and over again for some reason.

Still haven't gotten the miui 14 update in my region and the ghost touches after updating to miui 13 are driving me crazy. Also, my mobile data doesn't work for some reason and I had to restart my phone for it to work. However, it keeps on restarting again after I try to open an app. I changed my battery but it's still the same. I guess the motherboard is faulty. I'd rather buy a new phone than change the motherboard though. A bit disappointed that this phone already has problems in less than 3 years. I'm gonna go for another brand after this

Pretty happy with my purchase honestly, I paid 200€ almost 3 years ago and when I look at the spec of the phones at that price in 2023 it's barely better.
I wish they would update for android 13 tho, that's one reason I won't buy xiaomi again I'm happy with this phone in 2023 but I'm stuck on android 12 forever, that isn't cool xiaomi.
Oh and btw the camera app is pretty terrible, I almost bought a new phone just to take better photos recently but someone suggested I try a gcam apk and what a change, this phone is actually taking decent photos but again xiaomi holds it back because they don't update their software, they want us to buy the newer phones instead.

Xiaomi should update MIUI 14 based on Android 13 for the Redmi note 9 9S 9 Pro and it should improve the camera and it should fix all the battery and life issues and about Caliente must improve the front and front camera with its new update for the Redmi note 9 9S 9 Pro For global version 🤔

Using Note 9s since 2020. There are some major issues in this device after this latest MIUI update. Sometimes display touched by itself. That ghost touching is really annoying. Battery usage is higher than usual. But I still satisfied with its battery life. Another issue is internet connection not working when sometimes. It does not happen frequently, but I if it happens I need to restart the device again and again to get mobile signal.

Since the update form MIUI 11 to MIUI 12, photos are oversaturated with color and often bleached, especially when AI is turned on. Also, the conversation partner's voice during a phone call sounds dull and distorted. Even MIUI 14 didn't solve anything in this regard.

Got MIUI 13 and 14 updates on the same day, right after installing 13, 14 showed up so there's that. Also updated android version from 11 to 12 which is nice and security patch is now 1st Feb 23 also.
I haven't noticed much difference honestly, control center is a bit odd, there now green indicators about apps using camera and microphone and that's about all I've noticed.

Conrad, 06 Apr 2023Still on MIUI 12. Those who have received the update, hope ... moreMIUI 13 isn't great, but MIUI 14 works well. When you update to MIUI 13, you should receive MIUI 14 shortly. Just a piece of advice - restart your phone at least twice in succession, right after it finishes updating to either version. This will prevent any major issues that may otherwise appear. At least that's what I did with every update since forever, and never had to factory reset any of my phones.
