I've had my droid maxx for close to two years now and the only issues I've had with were the following.
1) It would overheat with a case on it for the first few months I had it. It would get so hot that I would have to stop using it for a while so it could cool down. It would especially overheat when I was in the middle of a call.
2) The phone would freeze on me at times. (That may have been because of apps on it though. after I got rid of the ones I didn't use it didn't freeze as much.)
3) It would just randomly shut off. I'm not fully sure why but at times it would turn itself off and not want to come back on for a few minutes.
Overall, It was a great phone. I did have two. I ended up shattering the screen of my first one in my pocket. one single crack appeared on the corner (still not sure what happened to it) and then about a month or two later, I was at work just simply sitting and I guess I put too much pressure on it in my pocket because when I pulled it out I had shattered the screen. I was still able to use it for a little bit after that until I could pay for a new one through my insurance. It's a really nice phone with little problems. The biggest out of all for me was probably the overheating. When the phone would overheat on me, the screen would become really laggy or even freeze until I had to restart the phone. I personally would recommend this phone to friends but I would advise them about the issues and what they would get themselves into. For this not being the phone I originally went to Verizon wanting I fell in love. It took me a few months but I fell in love and I'm sad to see it go.

Let's see what would come from Motorola regarding the Os update for our beloved Maxx.

Very disappointed to not getting lollipop update why motorola not updating to lollipop i think the problem is from career verizon because they are selling new divices and focusing on it

Verizon won't upgrade my MAXX and it has not worked correctly since 4.4.4 KK. I went to several Verizon service centers, no help at all.

Please told the motorola company please upgrade the motorola droid maxx at lollipop we are waiting last few month please do this urgent basis.

They must give the 5.0 to Droid Maxx as they made promise while launching. But what if they do not fulfil their promise.
Again, I totally agree with all of you on the issue of Android update.Neither me nor one of you can convince them that they launch the update although it is also a matter of credibility for them.
I'm not a representative of Moto nor an employee but it is a matter of technical issues that they facing as far as I'm aware of that.

LOOK Techno Droid man they promised that they will give that update about 3 or 4 months ago but it isnt happing that sucks for us i dont say that the phone is slow or any thing like that but motorola has promised us so why they dont give that update its a lot of time
