Manoj Manu , 17 Feb 2014I have purchased my Samsung galaxy S3 on 17th Feb 2014 in B... moredude i also purchase my s3 in pakistan at feb 17 2014 and i also get 4.1.2 when i unboxed it and in the back it say that it 4.0 version is official

I have purchased my Samsung galaxy S3 on 17th Feb 2014 in Bangalore India,before i gave any software update the default android version which came while unboxing was 4.1.2 , but i have read in spec the default is 4.0 version.....Can any one tell about this

i recommend all samsung s3 owners to stay with 4.1.2. its better than 4.3 but if you like to try 4.3 please please do full titanium backup before updating.

Allen the I.T Guy from the Philippines. Hey Samsung! Where is the 4.3 Update eh? I've been waiting for Months already. Don't let us down. I've read comments online saying that the 4.3 Update ruined some users phones. Come on you guys, so far APPLE beats SAMSUNG in terms of updates.

My phone has been a nightmare since the update, home button not always working and the battery drains so fast and it's not like I'm even using my phone that much I've turned wi-fi off mobile data and also power saving mode is on but its losing around 8 percent of life an hour when it's ildle

Pros
* You can move apps to the SD card
* The haptic feedback vibration issue has been resolved
* The keyboard is better and the sounds more pleasing
* Copy, paste and select all options are clearer.
* It's easier to select smaller text now
* 'Permissions' in apps show more detail
* Private internet browsing is shaded grey.
* The settings menu is more organised
* Menu transitions are smoother in areas that weren't as smooth before - i.e. scrolling through widgets. However, other areas now lag more.
Cons
* The battery drains quickly
* Gallery is unusable now - thumbnails are huge and can't be changed. Any more than 100 photos and scrolling through them takes forever. There are no sorting options.
* It takes ages to charge
* Adobe Flash (which I enabled) crashes the internet
* The revamped calculator app is ugly
* The clock widgets aren't as attractive
* In video player, the videos are no longer animated.
* The bar at the top is no longer shaded, which looks like a design flaw in the app tray.

I am quite disappointed after upgrading to 4.3. Phone freezes it self even after a factory reset no improvements observed ..apps opening speed is slow specially galary respond too late.. if do multi tasking phone freezes and home button doesnt work.battery drain too quickly..i am going to revert back to 4.1.2 ..really a disappointed update from samsung after a long waite

Pegaz, 13 Nov 2013Do not update!!! My galaxy S3 does not work properly anymore.Imo this update was a deceitful way of rendering your phones useless so you'll upgrade to a Note 3 or galaxy s4!!!
