Qualcomm should have stood up and faced Nokia in court since they licensed it from Nokia.
        HTC should have been indemnified.
Nokia just wants to double dip and it's sad the Judge was so stupid.

Brilliant Microsoftkia, sue your hardware partners! That'll want to make them install your OS on their devices.

Lumia phones aren't selling in European countries as well as Nokia /M$oft had hoped. Just 10% market share. That's why they want HTC phones banned in UK. Haha.

Now that Nokia is essentially about to become Microsoft, this just feels like Goliath stomping on David's throat. HTC already has production problems, is it really necessary to pile on?

I own the HTC One Mini, its the best smartphone I've ever had. I'm a heavy user and it can handle all I can throw at it. Plus the UI is very clean and unified, which is really saying something for an android device. I've had iPhones, the Moto Atrix, an Xperia and a Lumia - the One Mini is by far my favorite.

So I guess this ban is pretty great for Microsoft, but not so great for consumers who just want to get their hands on a terrific phone that isn't a phablet. Too bad.

green, 03 Dec 2013HTC should have pay to use Nokia patent. Stealing is ba... moreQualcomm builds the chip, not HTC.

People blamed HTC stealing the patent. Actucally it's Qualcomm who should be blamed.

And Qualcomm paid Nokia for the patent in the U.S. If I was the manufacture, I would have assumed that I can use the component too.

Really smart move by nokia, only few companies can match the build quality of nokia, mainly apple & htc.nokia saw a opening against htc and took it,after all ban on htc models might promote lumia phones.those who hate plasticky build of samsung opt for htc after all(android only) and i believe one major factor wiping out lumia series in sales.

                    They just won't give up.

Cenas, 03 Dec 2013The situation is not that one. HTC is using Qualcomm chips... moreNokia see HTC as a threat, that's why they are doing this, why don't they request a percentage of what HTC paid Qualcomm if Qualcomm are the ones in error.

So they think by get HTC phones bans will benefit them. Everyone who brought a HTC One, I really don't think they were coinciding buying a Nokia phone.

If this happens, then this may be better news for Samsung or Apple.

Bad move Nokia, very bad move!!!

                              Stealing is bad practice.
Learn From Mistake. If you cant innovate, pay the others so you can use their patent. Dont steal.

I don't think so. And Nokia should be protecting their investment/s. HTC is a cheeky thief, they deserve to be sued, although Samsung is obviously the biggest offender for stealing tech.

this patent system should really need to be reformed.suing the patents thieves is a must thing but nowadays companies like apple,ms and now nokia are doing too much in patent trolling. some are even licensing tech of other companies as their own patents(rumours). someone who is capable please start online petition and pressure to reform patent system(especially us government). it may really hamper innovation and tech development.
