Plastic HTC M8 is a better option in quality compared to Samsung midrangers and can even compete with S5 save for the camera

HTC needs to tone down the specs if they want to make a plastic phone. If the specs are the same, plastic m8 and metal m8 will kill each other. JUST look at iPhone 5s vs iPhone 5c.

I don't understand. Why is metal so much more expensive than plastic? I think it just shows how much the "premium" component of the price is.

HTC has thrown away an opportunity (with M8).. yes the Camera I am talking about. They had better options than what they did.
1. 8MP+ ultra pixel cam
if they are not able to create such thing,
2. 4MP Ultra + 13 MP normal cam
But they are too arrogant to stick with 4MP ultra crap (screw their dual cam setting). If they really want to fix, they need to check change this.

Prefer plastic. M7 / M8 gets too hot to hold when playing games or using for a long time. Nice to touch, but impractical.

And buy a good phone even mid class or low class and use for 3 years at least. Phone is not a tshirt. If it does job, i wont change it just fir fashion.

People are getting smarter and smarter today. After buying a phone they buyed also a protective case. So what is the point being a metallic or plastic phone. That why iphone turn also on plastic world.
htc, sony, samsung, iphone, nokia, lg are really good qaulity product phone. My opinion in buying a phone must consider first is the price. Not yet late for htc to lower their price. If they make boom, sony obligated to lowered also their price. Im doubt on iphone because price is their pride.
Money is very hard to earn, spent wisely buying of phone.

I think it's smart move. M8 overall is a good, but not a perfect phone. It's similar to Nexus 5. So, the price is very important to get some sales volume. If M8 with plastic can be priced lower than $400, it will be much popular, at least more popular than Nexus 5.
