I have a a blackberry pearl. I just recently lost all my sms messages and phone logs. I'm not worried about the phone logs, I just want the sms messages back. Is there any way to get them back?

to change your sms tone go to profiles advanced then click the button net to you "mouse" and click edit click sms click on the tone that is already there and you can change. My God I just figured it out after a year. I was actally on here looking for answers.

really gives the nokia 6233 a run for its money but it seems to lack the fundamental extras like FULL connectivity including infrared,long battery life,rigid build,exchangable cases,2MP camera and media player. its only good for a change from Nokia domination in cell phone market

Hi I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120. How do I change the SMS tone? I went to the 'Profiles' but it does not have the SMS tone function. Pls help me! Thanks.

hey i was getting the same call failed on my pearl you can try to turn off wireless and turn it on if it continues you probally need a new simcard your phone is tryin to log onto blackberry but it cant cause you probally shut off your blackberry service just get a new sim card it will be fine

Im about too get one of these blackberrys tomoro the 8100.Im normally a nokia 6233 man,I loved that fone but of late have hade nothing but trouble in & out of repair shops,lost signal.Im just over it!I thought id move away from nokia & try somrthing different..I hope they are an ok fone?? any comments would be appreciated,cheers.

Can anyone please help me, whenever i try to make a call on my BB pearl a message comes up saying "Authorization Failed" and i can't make a call

I actually can't receive text messages either. I can send them and I can receive emails through the accoutn I have set up, but I have been told that my friends and colleagues have sent me messages, and I am not receiving them. I had no problem with any of this until last night. Anyone know what it could be

Nope unfortunately this phone does not come with a video recording feature and as far as i know it does not even have a document reader, i may be wrong about this one but this is what i knw

Hello Michelle,
there is no way that u can choose diff tones for each incoming txt messages.wierd aye? i know it must have been possible on your previous phone.
For the phone not reading your mem card--> try this: go to options icon --> advanced options --> media card --> try toggling the mass storage support ON/OFF. (You may have media card in options). Make sure that in the same screen it should tell u if the memory card is detected or not. I hope this is helpful

Can u plz assist? The phone doesn't synchronize any of my contact details on the simcard. When I switched the sim from my previous phone to the Blackberry, it didn't recognize any of the details. Is there a setting I should use? Plz mail me back...

Hi. Okay I love my blackberry pearl it is a great phone other than the many issues I have with it. I have the same issue as many of you with it deleting call logs, text, and bbm messages. I called technical support they said you have to hook it up to your computer and download something to it, unfortionitly no computer so problem 1 solved but not fixed. Another issue, I could not get my memory card inserted into my phone, I took it to att and had them insert it for me so I know its in correctly but my phone is not reading that's its there. And also does anyone know if there is an option to have all text have different tones? I mean come on I could do this on my free phone so surely this one should have that option, right? For an expensive phone it has a ton of problems. One more thing, I have a video folder so can I record videos or what? I need help with my pearl, please someone help me.

Ceje, thank you very much for the SMS update on how to show the senders name and not just numbers. Could not find that before and was driving me mad!

u can go to options-->about--> it will tell u the software version, which would look like v4.2.1.* . if u want to install the latest software you could download the latest desktop manager and the handheld version from the blackberry.com website.

Hi everyone... i work with these phones everyday especially bb pearl (8100) and bb curve (8320). The main concern with these phones is that it deleted the call logs and txt messages. its a known issue with no fix at the moment.
I saw someone asking for upgrading the bb pearl so that it becomes wifi capable, the answer is that wifi is not software issue. Its more like a harware which needs to be integrated with the phone. There is no way that u can get this done. Wifi is available on the Curve only of all the bb models available.

I got a blackberry pearl 8100 a few days ago and im having trouble receiving SMS messages! The doesnt seem to be any consistancy some come through fine and others don't but it does seem to struggle more with longer texts (i.e. over a page long) and the person who sent it gets a delivery report on there phone saying delivered!
Ive read somewhere that it might be to do with the bb automatically deleting messages because of insuficient memory but i only got the phone a few days ago, ive only took 3 photos i did trnsfer a lot of contacts though!
Any ideas???
