Dear 007,
I used to be a Nokia user & i thought i wld try the BB pearl phone;I loved its light weight, "pearl" usage, internet & email connectivity, "safe" box, locking system. However the major disadvantages which i take as something granted is as follows:
* No linkage between the SAME # if it is written with country code or without. ex. If u save a # such as 050 6541567 with the corresponding name "Henry" & u receive a call from Henry +971 50 6541567, the name "Henry would not appear" & vice versa. It is very irritating when the network u r on sends the telephones WITHOUT country code so then u have to save them WITHOUT the country codes so that the name "Henry" appears, & then u go roaming & u want to call "Henry"; hence u have to edit the number to put country code & then dial
* NO sign of "call waiting" when u call someone & this someone is busy on the phone with someone else
* Mixing between emails from different email boxes & sms messages in the messages box
* Mixing between received, sent & missed calls & thus limiting the total # of calls to 20
If anyone can help me with these 4 main problems, i think this will be the perfect phone
If not, i will have to change it with Nokia E61i
Thanks & Regards,

@ Jessie Garcia,
It means the suretype is on (or off, I don't know) so you'l have to turn it on (or off).

TO EVERYONE re: "Data Connection Refused"
You CAN make it go away ***WITHOUT adding the BlackBerry Internet Feature***.
Just contact your provider and have them enable your Pearl's ability to MMS, picture message, and IM....
***Again, this is without adding the BlackBerry Internet feature***
...and the "Data Connection Refused" wil be **REPLACED**, not removed, with your provider's name.

@ hylton,
The "data connection refused" logo or whatever just means you don't have the BlackBerry Internet feature. If you contact your provider and have them so this thing (I don;t know what they do) to make it so you CAN send MMS, IM, and Pic message, it will go away...well, it will say you provider's name...

Yes, the font can be made larger.
I no longer own a Pearl, but I'll tell you how as well as I can...
>Options
>>Screen and Keyboard
>>>Font Size
>>>>Should be an 8-15 option, something close to that...

Dear most comment people that i read from, the person whose blackberry keeps saying data connection refused, i had that for a while to and eventually it gets upgraded on its own and it then says t mobile. The person whose texts keep getting deleted usually means you dont have enough memory space try deleting some songs or pictures and if that doesnt work you have to get yourself a memory card for you slot micro SD. If anyone has anymore questions please email me and i will do my best to reply thank you

Hello,
To JABA:
Yes I confirm that you are able to use it without the Blackberry services activated.
That is exactly what I am doing with mine, and it works well.
But i do not have stereo sound on my headset with my Pearl when i am listening MP3...any idea ?

i just got this phone recently and i don't know understand why it won't let me us mms text. and the top of the screen doesn't even say tmobile like my friend's blackberry does. it just says data connection refused. i didn't get the internet service with it, but i should still be able to mms text right? i'm not sure the guy at tmobile set my phone up right.
