In some locations, i like to the colour contrast on the photo when not using the Flash light.
Can somebody let me know is it possible to turn the Flash Light off in the setting menu ?
I'm currently using Nokia 6630, now planning to try the "berry". ~

I think it is a great phone i just got it last week, love the track ball that is on it makes scrolling through things so much easier. The only problem i have with it is that my friend has the Samsung D600 and he can't send anything over bluetooth to me but i can send stuff to him.

                Hi,

I just bought the new Pearl.

The phone seems nice but the set I have does not have a browser installed.

Can anyone tell me where I can download the preinstalled softwares which comes with the phone.

                Thanks

I purchased my 8100 about 6 weeks ago.
I live in Florida and Cingular is my service provider.
I have had probably 16 phones in the past 24 years and the 8100 is the best, most reliable best sounding digital phone I have ever used.
All features worked right out of the box.
I down loaded and printed out the gigantic instruction manual and it wasw worth every page of paper it is printed on... It is so much easier to read when you need to look up a new function..
The quality of the camera photos is very surprising, the speaker phone is loud and clear the signal strength of the radio it self is awesome as it has not dropped a call yet..
I love having my hot mail with me 24 /7 and sms,e-mail and mms are simple to use...
The bluetooth range is poor but adequate for my use..
This thing looks great and feels solid too...
I cannot think of any reason to go back to an unstable phone again.
I use to be a "buy American made" person but Motorola quality has been terrible as I have gone through a few Razrs' this past year and several V600 the year before...

The speakerphone on my Blackberry Pearl 8100 gets turned off by itself and it is hard to get it working again. Has anyone else experienced this problem and figured out a solution? I've gone back to my old phone out of frustration.

you guys please play more with your pearl..it can use different ringtone for different contacts, you are able to receive pictures or songs from another phone by bluetooth you just need to let it recognise the other phone! DUMB2 and you reckon you know your phone so much seeing you've been using 12 different models of 5 different brands in da past year??

TO ALL WHO PISTED THEIR OPINION,
IT IS NICE TO SEE THAT FREE SPEECH IS ALIVE AND WELL, BUT MOST OF YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL.
THE PEARL IS A GREAT PHONE. IT HAS GREAT PICTURE QUALITY ( YES I DO WISH YOU COULD SCROLL THREW YOU PHOTOS WHILE THEY WERE ENLARGED). THE VERI SIGNAL VOICE DIAL IS FABULOUS.
The phone like any other phone on the market has a few cons. ( I should know about phones I have carried 12 different modles of 5 different brands in the past year )

                        The CON's:
                        NO video recorder
Not 3G and edge ( just edge class 10 )
Roller ball can get gunked up ( fixable )
and as stated above can't scroll threw pics while in large size ( i have very bad vision and the small pics are not too clear )
Can't have personal ringer for each caller

                        The PRO's
                        Voice dial
                        Push to talk
                        Photo Quality
Easy to use text, mms and email
                        The map tool
                        BB messenger
                        The help tool
                        Signal ( never dropp a call )
                        Sound quality

I just purchased the blackberry pearl. If you are thinking about getting this phone India. Forget it. I'm frustrated about paying more money to get blackberry services without which you can't use GPRS, E-mailing etc. What troubles me more is the the Bluetooth connectivity does not allow anyone to transfer data to your cell phone.

Bottom line.... when I think of this phone the only feeling I get is that of me being troubled.

i would recommend the nokia e62 to all of you, the only con about that phone is that it doesn't have wifi and it is kinda wide but its thin and lightweight and im loving it

I really like the look of my Pearl, although texting was really a problem in the beginning but you'll get used to it. The other thing that I was quite disappointed was that the Pearl cannot be operated in different countries outside of the United States, eventhough it's a quad band phone, so I ended up spending $25 more to unlock my phone.

I got the Pearl For christmas. I love it!!
It has every feaute I need for work quick emails, organizer, music player and internet.
The pro's heavily out weight the cons. My battery case does not stay on but they are ssending me a new one. If you cant type on the keys or use the bluetooth, get a brain!
                                        Love it!!
