I had just brought a Desire HD and the battery only last for 12 hours and i did not really use it. Anyone encounter the same problem???

Still DHD is one of the fastest handset in the market.... i love it

Had my Desire HD for a week now. Man what a phone!! Was worried about the battery life issue at first. Phone lasted till about 15h30 with average use. Then installed Juicedefender which now has my battery lasting well past 20h00. It has the best screen ever and a pleasure to browse the net. Considered the Iphone 4g and Blackberry Torch and now am so glad I chose this monster. Well done HTC once again!! Others don't compare.

Be sure to shut down your phone properly when inserting and removing sim card

Got HTC Desire HD with Android 2.2
Few issues -
1. Speaker and ringtone volume is too mediocre. Speaker is pathetic. Very low volume.
2. Battery lasts only half day. 5-6 hrs if you are frequently using it. It can last for 12hrs with very low usage.
3. There is no option to change lock screen image. It was possible in my old HTC Wildfire.
4. video are .3gp very bad. They are not in mp4 or mpg or mov
Good -
1. Very fast . Hardly hangs
2. very responsive and bright screen
3. Very good quality camera.

got my Desire HD phone last week, it's very good. so far much better than my previous phones - nokia or samsung. I find UI quite simple after getting used to. I like its shortcut/widgets. The phone is fast. Indeed there were some lags but are negligible.

1. From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless & networks.
2. Tap Mobile networks > Network operators or Access Point Names.

Does any one know what is the current os version in india? Mine is 2.2
I heard that in some regions 2.2.1 upgrade is available?will it be available in indua soon?
And swype is available for dhd..download applanet from applanet.com or search in google..i'm also using swype..:)

no screen saver
off WiFi if u dont use it
same as Bluetooth
some rumors... that themes affect the bat. life so better have black themes + brightness reduce it to half.. since its a 4.3inch screen i guess its not that bad to decrease the brightness

It is very impress... moreTry some simple tips which can save you a lot of battery life. a) Reduce your screen timeout period to 15secs. b) Reduce the light intensity to about 1/3 of total c) Dont use moving screensavers or backgrounds, instead try a black one d) Download the Battery Solo Widget; it helps you to better monitor your battery e) Swith off bluetooth when u dont use it f) Dont use wifi and 3g at the same time. Try using the APN DROID application to switch off 3g when u dont really need it g) Close applications that may be open in the background. You can use some utilitiy for that. I personally turn my phone to flight mode before going to sleep and get 2 1/2 days of use, even by using my push email. Last but not least, try completely discharging your phone and charge it fully. The battery monitor widget helps you a lot with that
