I have had my HTC Desire HD for nearly a week now (sim free) and although it is a great handset there are things that are annoying:
1- The speaker volume is really really quiet to say it has dolby,
2- Android market place never wants to download, takes alot of attempts,
3- For some reason doesnt like 32gb memory cards, i have tried a few in now and rejects them even if i reformat, so im using the 8gb card that came with it,
4- You tube and other streaming websites look shocking, pixallated and not the quality i had expected,
5- Takes a few attempts to sync it up with HTC sense,
6- It has randomly crashed twice and had to do a battery pull before it would come back on.
Have contacted HTC about these and they have said do a factory reset.......it is still exactly the same. However these are just the negatives and the positives out weigh them. Just thought I would share so if anyone has any fixes they could share.

This comment is purely relating to web traffic for this site alone and not really a complaint, but I've already read about a dozen Desire HD reviews in the time its come out and GSMArena still has no review. By the time you guys review this phone, the demographic that still needs to find out information about this phone will be dramatically less. Hell, I might even have this phone before this review comes up. (I sure hope not) The Desire HD has dropped from your high interest phones in the site already and hence the hits will definitely be lower than before when people were still highly curious about this phone.
I love the detail in which you test phones but the review speeds are almost too mixed. Some come out even before the phone gets released (WinMo7), and some take a long time.

Melscott, 31 Oct 2010Can anyone tell me whether or not the ringtones are loud? ... moreI don't know if it helps but I heard that the HD has a facility that detects when the phone is in someones pocket, ie: covered, and hence rings louder to couter that. Hope that helps with the tinitus question.

This phone is great except for the following:
1)- Speakers ( Very Bad )
2)- No Video call ( not important for some )
3)- Battery life. ( it depends on how u use it, but still we hope the coming up-date will enhance the battery life ).

Gladly it is loud enough for ringtones, especially when you choose a loud ringing one (some pre-installed ringtones sounding loud enough for a good hearing even when the phone is in the pocket).

hi all, 31 Oct 2010Desire HD definitely outperforms Desire, if you don't mind ... moreThe battery isn't a disaster!! Have this phone now for a full two weeks, my battery last up to almost 2 days (regular user). Normal use could be 3 days. That's been said, i think the battery isn't bad at all.

... moreMy friend , this is the sad part in this HTC Desire HD. even the reviews saying the same. This is why i changed my mind to another one. but still excellent phone.
