Wifi is nice to have, but not really important. How can wifi be important when most of the time you can't even find a decent hotspot? If web browsing is so important for you, then get internet access instead of depending on wifi that is not available most of the time.

@4TLG AKA marc/economist/henry etc....
Just to clear something up, please don't post with various identities, we know you're the same person...
And yes, Wi-Fi is important, thats why all the high-end phones have got it.

Yes, wifi should be a standard feature on low end phones, so that those people who cannot afford internet access can still go online by going to a hotspot. Buyers of high end phones like this one could very well afford internet access on their phones. Wifi would only add to the already high cost of this phone, and it will not even be used.

Those comments below about wifi are true. I have the N95 8gb. It does have wifi, but I got tired of having to search for wifi every time I need to go online, and most of the time, there's none. I still ended up getting internet service through my provider, and I am much more satisfied. No more searching around places looking for hotspots, but it rendered the wifi of my N95 useless. It would have been better if the N95 did not have wifi at all. It would've brought down the price a bit. So yes, wifi should be a must on low end, more affordable phones, coz it's almost useless to have them on high end, expensive phones, for its owners would likely get internet service.

LOL on comments below. I just realized that it's true, that those who gets annoyed w/ this phone not having wifi are probably those people who doesn't want to pay monthly fees for internet through their providers, lol. I think it's very clear that LG wants to discourage those people from getting this phone, lol. It all makes a lot of sense now why a lot of high end phones don't offer wifi. They probably figured out that their buyers would prefer internet over wifi anyway. LOL, I guess those wifi fans are indeed cheap wannabes, lol.

People who complain about phones having web browsing features but no wifi, are cheap people. They are the type who does not really need to go online but only wants to show off. So they go to a mall, the ones they know that have free wifi, and then they go online and pretend that they have full internet access, when all they could afford is only free wifi, lol. For if they go to hotspots that charges a fee for wifi access, they will not bother because again, they're cheap. Gosh, wake up, this phone is obviously for people who can afford full internet access, & not for cheap ones who would only access the internet at hotspots, LOL. It is a waste of technology for LG to include wifi when the buyers of this phone will more than likely get full internet access. It is impractical in the sense that is already an expensive phone, it will be more expensive if wifi is included, and you will not even be using wifi since you already have full internet access. See the impracticality of wifi on some high end phones? Those cheap folks doesn't seem to get it, LOL. I'm glad that this phone does not have wifi so that it would discourage cheap people from buying it =)

I really don't get it why some people make a big deal of wifi on phones. Honestly, wifi on phones is almost useless. 1st example, you're on the road and need google maps for directions. Guess what? There's no wifi access on the freeway =) However, if you have full internet access, you can open up google maps no matter which freeway you are on =) Another example, I'm stuck at someone's house and need to check my emails. Guess what, there's no wifi in residential areas, but you can go online through full internet access. Another example, I'm stuck at the airport on a delayed flight and I'm bored & want to go online. Hurraayyy, there's wifi, but oh I forgot, they charge like $20 per hr or something, while full internet access is only $20/month. You know what, DON'T BE CHEAP. If online access is really a big deal for you, get full internet access, not wifi.
