Are you able to use the camera after upgrading Cynogen 2.3.X?

Bought this phone in April with the stock 2.1 .. I loved the phone .. Got a bit laggy at times but a task killer solved this problem .. When the 2.2 update came out and I updated it .. The worst update ever .. Haven't actually come across such an unstable update .. Started to curse myself on buying this phone .. Then came across the Cyanogenmod rom .. I decided to give it a shot .. Managed to install Cyanogenmod 2.3.5 and trust me this phone is a beast.. The official stable Cyanogenmod 7.1(2.3.7) is out and have been running it for 4 days and am loving it ..
1. Good battery life
2. Not even a bit slow .. Love the response
3. Hats off to the DSP settings .. Love The EFFECTS
4. Its just plain awesomeness !
Anyone who has a problem, I recommend Cyanogenmod .. For it makes YOU LOVE YOUR DEFY !

Samsung is better, its new smartphone is earth-friendly.. It is awesome SOLAR POWERED dude. I bet they Motorola can come up with eco-friendly Defy.:)

Which is Better? Samsung Galaxy Ace or Motorola Defy or HTC Salsa??
Some people say that Motorola is a not so nice brand.. but Motorola Defy has nice specs but doesn't have android 2.3 update!
HTC Salsa is very nice but it only has 3.4 inch screen with the resolution of 320x480 so gaming won't be that fluid because of the screen resolution.
Samsung Galaxy Ace is Awesome! But the case is that it doesn't have a flash player & its GPU is just Andreo 200.. so.. which is better for:
Gaming
messaging, Facebook
Watching videos
Browsing
I want a phone that can do anything I throw at it fluidly & easily without lags...
If there are any OTHER affordable phone that can do the things I want it to do.. please tell me :) Thanks!

motorola defy or samsung galaxy ace or htc salsa?? plss tell me... samsung galaxy ace is awesome!! but doesn't have flash player.. Htc salsa is... nice but it it only has 3.4 inch screen & only have 480x320 resolution... Motorola defy is the best! but it doesn't have android 2.3 update.. sooo.. which is better???

@@@@@forgot to mention...its android 2.2 without motoblur...it also dosent allows me to sync my contacts with facebook...dont know why..while gmail/twitter works fine. Camera is soooo poor (RED lense)....flash is not at all in sync with shutter...so images are generally dark...even with flash....good thing is screen sensitivity is very good..i like its design..tiny led for indication is helpful....expecting version upgrade for OS to improve its overall performance inclding battery and camera.

I brought this mobile 2 weeks back, it hangs several times, need to keep on removing battery cover and restart it. It sucks....I know..no issues with hardware..is all because of the junky software ..its operating system. And the worst thing is you never know when your mobile is in hanged condition ...and if some one calls u in that time..then the other end will here the ringing tone while there will be no activity on your phone. ...what a stupid problem is this. I have to keep on checking my phone within some intervals to confirm whether its working or hanged. Battery is also a problem..need to put it for charging twice a day alteast. I am in doubt..whether my decision to buy android was good or bad......missing my Nokia. :(

3.How do you decide which version to go 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 or 2.3.x?
4.My main intetion is to get the display on with the Home button(rather using power or volume keys) .
Is it possible with 2.3?
5.If we are able to reverse into the official froyo version,then Warranty still holds good ?

installed cyanogenmod 7.1 with android 2.3.7 - I used stock 2.1 and 2.2 before and I can tell you cm7.1 definitely killed any wish to replace this phone - if you can sacrifice your warranty cm7.1 is 100% worth the effort to install (took me about 25 minutes including setting up my PC, downloading ROM, rooting my unit, bootloader installation and everything !!!) + even battery lasts longer. If you're afraid you might brick your phone - give it to someone you know who can do that - believe me, you'll be thanking him - it's like a completely different and much better phone.

AnonD-25599, 11 Oct 2011please guys, i want to buy this phone but how can i upgrade... moreu cannot compare galaxy ace to defy, defy is better and more worth on its price range and of course the spec is better than ace...
it is easy to update to official 2.2 , all u have to do is download the MSU from motorola website, connect yr phone and let it update, thats all...
just buy a defy n u wont regret...
