Rupesh, 20 Feb 2011I bought the DEFY 2 weeks ago. After one week the phone st... moreI have been using my Defy for around seven weeks and for me it has not lagged, also the camera is far better than a Nokia 2 mp cam, to tell the truth i have set Defy cam and have taken some good photos and also some good macro shots that are fabulous.

So far the Defy for me has been an excellent set in every way and i can not complain.

With every manufacturer handset it is only natural that is sometimes a faulty unit amoungst the good, its the same with people and that is the way this life is as nothing perfect on Earth yet

    guys...
So after noticing the dead pixel, i managed to get an exchange with motorola dealer here in Dubai. I got a brand new defy yesterday.. This time unlike the previous old defy, the phone is not asking me for any setup application like email, date, time etc in the first start up... I believe they have changed the whole starting procedure in the newly launching defy.... I found some new additions in the menu as well...... Can any one confirm it from motorola.... Keeping my fingers crossed for my defy...

Adi, 20 Feb 2011IS this device upgardable to android 2.3?I wouldn't count on 2.3 (Gingerbread) upgrade. The rumor for 2.2 (Froyo) is Q1 of this year. Gingerbread is going to be more geared toward 4G phones.

Rupesh, 20 Feb 2011I bought the DEFY 2 weeks ago. After one week the phone st... moreI had the exact same experience. The battery life on DEFY is very poor. If you heavily use the phone, it will drain within 4 to 5 hours!! Even the screen is too dull, i think becoz it is only 256k color, and not 16M. The call quality is also very poor. Indian DEFYs have no MOTOBLUR which makes a big difference later when you get more and more contacts on your phone. Compared to my father's Samsung Galaxy 3 this phone is a big waste. I am really upset I bought this phone, I should have gone for Samsung instead. Also, please be advised it is almost impossible to find spare parts for Motorola phones in India. They are either too expensive, or not in stock always.

I bought the DEFY 2 weeks ago. After one week the phone started hanging very often. Even during the 1 week I was not impressed with the phone, especially since the phone lacks MOTOBLUR in India. The battery life was very low, I got only 8-10 hours with one charge and medium usage. Many games lagged, and some would not even install due to some conflict. Camera quality was worse than my old 2MP Nokia phone camera. The only thing nice about this phone is that it is water-proof, and the screen is nice (only indoors.. u cannot see anything if there is sunlight).
I SOLD my DEFY yesterday on eBay and bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace today.

100 Moto, 17 Feb 2011Motorola makes low quality phone? If so, name me just one ... moreGMSarena's own tests show that Samsung call quality is far superior to Motorola. While Samsung has been known through history to produce good quality and reasonable priced phones, Motorola has always had the image of low quality.

this is an excellent phone, however, it is kind of not that good looking, but really love the water proof and stuff like that, but i didnt like the storage inside, came with a 2gb microsd, that was bad, should have been a 8gb, and also, the facebook integration isnt bad, but its very limited, and still though by including the status folder on home screen, it takes a small space and you can see the recent status update of your friends!,

[deleted post]Motorola makes low quality phone? If so, name me just one phone from Samsung which offers the best noise reduction / cancellation quality like Crystal Talk for Motorola? A phone is NOT a phone if it can't even deliver clear conversation.

Now the almighty brand is pretty much gone but I can't believe the used to be harmony Korean brand start to have fans attacking other brands, just like what the almighty brand did.

I don't understand why some of you complain about the phone's stability and speed. My phone has an uptime of over 230 hours, and I never encountered a crash of an app (and I do have a lot installed), or seen it lag or respond slowly to commands. Using stock Eclair 2.1 update 1, and Moto Blur 2.34. Battery lasts through a day, with around 30% before charging at night, with heavy usage (3G on, WiFi on for 2 maybe 3 hours, aprox. 1 hour of voice calls, 1 hour of web browsing, mail and sms sending/receiving, a few pictures taken, 30 minutes of music, using Maps and GPS for around 20 minutes, and some Angry Birds, lol).
Very pleased with it, only minus is that the volume rocker button feel kinda cheap and squeaks.
