I have the NEC n412i, I-Mode version of the L1/e949. Does anyone know the code to restore factory defaults. It was *#73738#* for previous NEC's but it doesn't work with this one. Thanks

Just a question about the L1.... i'm thinking of buying it because it's a hot phone, but what does the USB do? and with the MP3s, the phone doesn't have speakerhone, does that mean they can't play out aloud? Also, what does Blue tooth allow you to do? Thanks!!

For reseting your phone, there are two copper round pads under the sim card. Get a pair of tweezers and short them out. The phone will reset

Just a question, does anyone know how to convert mp3 to MFM ringtone files? I can play mp3's as my ringer, but only MFM files for SMS and MMS. Thanks!

The initial thought i got when seeing this phone was the: thin style.
Didnt even think about the features, which now looking back, is dim of me.
Bluetooth is good, camera is ok, but battery life? Really baaad. Within a day of listening to the mp3, battery would decrease, meaning recharging again. 26mb? Not very much, meaning at least 5 or so of very little memory.. Wish there were more memory space and a few more features. But a good phone overall. ^^

I've had the N412i version for over a month and love it. My one criticism is the ringtones as there are no simple "ring" ringtones.
My favourite ring tones are the old fashioned phone bell sound "ring ring" & "ring". I have these tones in wma format but the phone appears to demand mid format.
I'd appreciate any help on locating the 2 ringtones in mid format. (Quite loud also if possible.)
I use the "ring ring" for calls & the "ring" for SMS.
Any help much appreciated.

the battery totally sucks. if u use the MP3 player to play a couple songs, it uses up a 1/3 of the battery

Its gorgeous much better design than V3 imo. I hate V3s design but i like this one. Features are a little weak for me but its a very sexy phone.

is that 65k col? as compared to 260k col on the V3?
It seems like such a big step backwards...

Slimmest fone on the market,Nec's done well by trying to squeez a lot of gagets in such a small phone(Bluetooth-Mp3 player-1.3mpixel camera with video recorder,etc...),most importantly is the L1 doesn't leave the big hole in your pocket(bought brand new in Ebay.com last month for only AUd$450.00),the battery is not outstanding but ok(100hrs standby time and 90 minutes of talk time). In HK it's been selling very well and can't hardly get enough stock(still HK$3800.00)and still selling. If you're looking for something unique, good looking, reasonable price then the L1(called N412i in Oz)is the right fone for you...No wonder why Motorola had brougt out 2 more colors in the V3 version and the V3i will be coming out not very long after that(where is the V3x..??Mr Motorola...we're waitng..!!).

In da last month I have gone thru the Samsung D600, Z500, Sony w800i, and Nokia 8800, and personally I love this NEC over the rest for its looks, quality, ease of usuage, and features. This NEC phone has done well. And yes is made in Japan.
