Editorial: Samsung, sort out the GPS and Bluetooth on the Galaxy lineup

25 October, 2015
I am an avid phone user, but I don't need that much from a device. That's the reason why throughout the last couple of years I am mostly using a current-gen iPhone as my primary device. But I always try to stay in the Android and Windows loop, so I often experiment with my secondary smartphone.

funny. i had a gps issue with my note 3 recently but thought it was a stray bug. i don't use gps or bluetooth that often. bluetooth file sharing has some issues but i guess i knew i had buggy software. haven't seen it on other androids.

on the flip side, the note 3 was the first time i was able to use nfc for proper pairing and data sharing - with a nexus 4 i think.

I've owned a Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and now use an iPhone 6 as my main device.
I can say is that i've NEVER EVER had a single issue with the GPS in any of the 3 devices i've used. The BT is a different story, while the Samsung devices never gave me a problem with the BT, the iPhone 6 fails to work properly with some BT handsfree headphones.
I also sync my phones with the car BT connection and i can also say that although all of the 3 worked properly the iPhone 6 was the hardest to sync for the first time, for some reason it would simply fail to connect until i tried enough times and it magically worked, the Samsung devices never had this problem.

move to Bolivia, thus you'll have something right in Samsung phones

A phone enthusiast & iPhone! Hmm.. Interesting. Well, I'm a phone enthusiast too (I guess). Used to use Nokia symbian phones & Sony Ericsson mostly. Then I moved to iPhone 3, used it for a year. Touchscreen was impressive (at that time) & thats about it :D, nothing else. I missed my N70, N82, N85 a lot (golden days). Moved to android with a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro (one of the best phone I've ever used in my short life). Then I never ever think about moving from android. After using Galaxy S2, S3, S4, Note 3; also some LG phones G2, G Pro, G4 (gave it to my sister) now I'm on Note 4. BUT, on any of these stock ROM, I did not face any of these weird issues consistently! I mostly use custom stock based or AOSP ROM & those issues can be found on them frequently.

I'm using Note 5 and connected to Asus Zenwatch, no connection issues for over a month. I did use Pebble with my old LG G2, now that combination have some connection issue, perhaps you can check whether it's the secondary device which has issue?
