Lumia 640 was my worst buy ever! W 8.1 is very slow, but hides it under slow animations, and I often get the message "out of memory" = out of RAM-memory, but that never ever happen on any of my old Androids with far less RAM-memory! W 8.1 has no browser at all with an adblocker, and very few of the Android apps I need to use every day exist on W 8.1!

I have lumia 1020 and 720.
I rarely use them. I use lumia 1020 only for taking photo and as a back up phone. The loading time when opening apps frustrates me.
I use android as my main daily driver.

That's much better support than most Android phones. Even high end Android phones do not always get two major updates and there are absolutely no low end or even midrange Android phones from 2013 which still get updates. Basically only Nexus phones and iPhones are as well supported as Lumias.

I have lumia 950...i don't say it is half baked like many people who bark here (I doubt they have a windows phone?) but I feel it requires polishing which comes up with upgrades. I mean whoever wants quicker update jump to windows insider program. U get update every 2 weeks consistently. For Andy guys...how many of u will receive marshmallow...for appy folks how many of ur generation wud recieve ios 10 if u don't have > iphone6? But for windows the insider updates is available for almost the entire spectrum of lumia...it may be slow for non insiders. But I think MS is working hard to give a very stable, safe and smooth OS! Period!!!

Bunch of Nitwits, Totally destroyed there Windows clients, Since they started update and some even had it, but immediately withdrawn due to bugs ad fixes. They never plan for next 11 onwards launch. So embarrassing customers and not whipping their R& D staff for waiting full year w015 in wait!

Every phone can browse the web, send messages and take a picture or play a video, these are no concerns to anyone (I used to all that on my old Nokia 6630).
I don't hate WP10, it does have some cool stuff, but there's also so much bad stuff that (especially in regions where WP is not popular at all) makes justification to buy one of those devices pretty much impossible. Microsoft so far has been relying on gimmicks or slamming the competition (all those ads and marketing campaigns that we see glorifying WP devices while trying to shame Android and iOS ones) rather than invest in actually making their products better. Imagine instead of placing the cash to film an ad and then pay for it to be shown, they could've financed 10+ devs to port their game or app, or to speedup the update which other platforms have.
iOS got famous because for a while they had no competition, while Android got famous because Google basically gave it to everyone with no restrictions. WP needs to not only find it's thing, but more importantly, needs to give the users a reason to check this thing out and without the apps and games we all use every day, good luck with that happening.

I've always liked Nokia, and by extension MS. Now that they have bought the Nokia mobile division, I realized that I only truly loved Nokia, not MS. And receiving this disappointing news, coupled with my disappointment in the newer, post-acquisition phones in terms of design, OS updates (or lack thereof) and availability, I am prepared to embrace other platforms.

Microsoft is unable to provide any fix date for Windows 10 Mobile release for all compatible phones till now. It seems MS is playing with our patience.
