But i would like to make two points.
The first is that this is just one number, what about the shaders, the texturing and the memory bandwidth ?
These number are also important because you have to take in consideration the screen resolution, even if it seems logical that a powervr SGX540 is better than a 535.
And then are the developers going to use it? Because if developers want to sell their games, they have to be sure that it runs fine on other and less powerful hardware.

n8 rules, 23 May 2010i totally agree with u....felix n8 uses a broadcom gpu whic... morei think nokia used a arm 11 because the platform can support external gpu like the power mbx lite in the apple 3g and now the powerful broadcom in the n8 unlike the arm cortex which comes with a embedded power vr sgx.....plus 680mhz arm11 consumes less batteries than the 1ghz cpu in the market

On the specifications ... at 25 fps ????

I can't believe people are su... morei totally agree with u....felix n8 uses a broadcom gpu which is way powerful then any other gpu used in 3gs or snapdragon processor......all u android freak might think snapdragon is powerfull but actually its way weaker in terms up gpu......the polygon per sec of snapdragon processor is less than the cortex used in 3gs n900 etc etc . gpu used in n8 has higher polygon per sec than the power vr sgx used in the a8 cortex....

You think video recording is done by Application processor ?
go watch the galaxy 720p and Nokia N8 720p video , galaxy struggles even for 20fps, pure joke.
There is something called GPU which has video encoder and decoder chip built-in.
Nokia N8 shines hell of a lot better in 720p videos and 12mpx shots.

Right, lets all get some perspective. On the current Android Vs. Symbian thing, I think you need to take a big Think. Both have advantages.
Symbian is simple. Its proven, rugged and dependable. The symbian phones may have weak processors from ARM but thats because Symbian only needs a weak processor to run it efficiently. It retains the old age vestige of its heritage in that its just so easy to understand and use. Anyone used to non-touch phones should find this a sinch. The OVI store may be low in number, but most of it is actually usable and practical. Symbian also completely dominates the low-end market (i'm talking sub-£200).
Android is fantastic in that its so changeable. A manufacturer can literally rewrite the entire rule book and make it something new. This means that it can become anything, it has so much Potential for developers. It's also cheaper than most, the cheapest android phones coming in at about £200.
The problem for symbian is that people don't WANT old fashioned anymore. They want new, integrated, social phones with a huge base of power. Symbian doesn't offer that, its too old fashioned.
Thats why Symbian^3 has to do more than just compete. It has to be better. Nokia will never die out, it's got too much power in the budget market. The budget market is what gave LG and Samsung the money to start, and now Nokia has pretty much ripped it from them. But unless Symbian^3 brings something new, it's never gonna be in the high end.

I think that recording 720p video smoothly at 30fps is guite impossible in this model. It depends on processor which is slow in nokia n8 (ARM 11 680 Mhz is about three/two times slower than AMR Cortex A8 1Ghz which is in Samsung Wave).
