Nokia fanboys are the most disconnected bunch ever. I mean look it. We were talking about symbian and the n8, and then out of the blue, they single out the iphone and drag it in the argument, hahahaha.

Anonymous, 28 May 2010Its declining...The rest of the world already knows that symbian market share is declining quite rapidly. But you see die hard nokia fanboys are in a state of denial. They refuse to accept the truth because it hurts them so much, lol. So they'd rather live in their make believ world that symbian is growing and growing, lol. I won't be surprised if a nokia fanboy would claim that symbian took over microsoft's market capitalization, lol.

In the mid to low end phones, not in the high end. Nokia themselves adopted a new OS platform (meego) for their high end device..

Coming back to this one, I do like to have an optical zoom in my mobile tho. Doesn't matter if it has a 5 or 8mp camera but with good result.
It is always good to have a good closeup snap of beautiful girl standing on some distance. Lol

... morePerfectly right. Any other OS that is getting famous by every day is because of the handset specs mostly. Yes Andriod has more to jump but it is only because of Google or else it would be laying under the rocks like Bada in start.
Symbian is here to stay for a long long time and if Symbian bring this new version with new look, I think there is no way anything else can stand between them and success. Sony Ericsson is driving Symbian, Nokia is always a front runner and both are establishing their lost domain, both companies are covering up their gaps and that will bridge new Symbian gaining more control over market soon.

[deleted post]Research company Gartner has
published a breakdown of the
smartphone world for Q1 2010, and
the results are looking incredibly
positive for Nokia. With over a
quarter of a million Symbian
handsets sold every DAY, rivals are
going to have to work hard if they
want to catch Nokia.
Gartner’s research of the smartphone
world shows lots of figures for Q1
2010, but the most important ones
are the fact that Symbian devices sit
at the top of the pile, with over
260,000 Symbian handsets sold every
single day, and making up just under
half the smartphone market.
Granted, there are other
manufacturers that make Symbian
handsets in small numbers - such as
Sony Ericsson - but the vast majority
of Symbian phones currently on sale
are made by Nokia. With devices such
as the Nokia 5800 - which has sold
over 8 million units on its own, it’s
easy to understand how the figures
have become so large.
In comparison, RIM (Research In
Motion) sits in second place, with a
market share of under 20 per cent,
with Apple ’s iPhone OS taking third,
with around 15 per cent of the
market. Even with Android - which
makes up under 10 per cent - the
other three players struggle to match
Symbian in terms of units sold,
highlighting just how dominant
Nokia is in the global smartphone
market.
So, despite what you may have heard
about the dominance of other
smartphone platforms, it looks like
Nokia and Symbian are here to stay. SO PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THE SYMBIAN MARKET SHARE DECLINING DONT JUST TALK UNDER ASSUMPTIONS USE FACTS .

[deleted post]I'm not even a nokia fan i was just OUTLINING a very important point after seen people comparing the nokia n8 with this newcomer. Many people would go for a great smartphone with a great camera and few would go for a great camera with not so great smartphone capabilities. For me currently my perfect phone would be the samsung galaxy s (waiting for it to come in stores in my countries )and i'm not even thinking of buying the nokia n8 but i would love to try out the symbian^3 and see if it delivers what nokia promised.

I did say "if I remember it correctly" and yes Sony Ericsson is first one to bring out huge megapixel phone camera because every user was bringing SE phones down due to their I think 3mp cameras, so they slam the competition by showing what they can do if they want to do.

Sony Ericsson was in fact the first ever to introduce an 8 megapixel cameraphone so your whole story doesn't even make any sense at all. And since when was there a 9 megapixel phone?! Way to make up stories right there. Your comment FAILS.

[deleted post]I must have to agree with you on couple of things.
After few days or as soon as this post will go down, this name will be faded off unless they continue to do something to stay in the news. While Nokia, with N8 will not go down EVER.
Was Sony Ericsson in the MP war? No, I don't think so of what I saw over the years. SE was sticking with 5mp max in their sets while others were hitting nearly 8 and everyone was bashing SE for not be able to "advance" their camera and it was begin to damage their repotation a lot so they push I think 9mp camera with C series if I remember the figures right. Just to show they can do if they want.
You see, it is usualy the users and public with less knowledge that causes this sort of act by a sensible company. Same was with Fuji cameras, they published many articles and news about MP and Quality differences but they were pushed down because they were not putting more than 6mp cameras in their mid-end series. To earn the market back they had to lift that bar up for them.
People with less knowldge and understanding cause more damage, and we suffer because our favorite company has to stay up and running.
p.s. None of the point above is to go against you I am saying it about general people. I hope you will not take it on you, however I don't mind if the "i" guys will take it against them, they are welcome to take it on them.
