11 March, 2016
Samsung sources both Sony and Samsung made sensors for the S7 camera. Is there any difference in image quality?

The left images are a bit sharper for me I will assume that is the Samsung sensor as that is how it's written underneath.

AnonD-433929, 12 Mar 2016Those cropped out images doesn't give required info to judg... moreJust what I thought!!!

What are we supposed to look at?? I see pictures but clearly the left pics as slightly natural.

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2016And just look at Sony fans saying Sony is better. Duh.Just look @ Dxomark and a slew of other tech sites, Sony is indeed better. Sarcasm is for winners, like sony.

I'm a sony fan, but in all honesty I can't see any obvious difference.
The sony sensor takes a bit colder images (more natural) while samsung's sensor takes warmer photos, as usual. It's down to what you like.
Both take a bit oversaturated images though, but that's because samsung's own software doing and not the sensor's. Overall no difference, besides the colour temperature.

3 nity, 12 Mar 2016Just Samsung fans saying Samsung is better. And just look at Sony fans saying Sony is better. Duh.

Although the difference is really minor, I think the Samsung sensor has a small edge...ever so slightly.

I have no clue about photographies, I don't see much difference. Though I see difference between flagship, mid ranger or budget phone photos. So anyone who says one another is FAR better is just a hater.

accept the fact that sony have a good camera than samsung.
images is good looking sometimes on samsung becuase of the backpanel the amoled display try to put it on your computer and see what will happen. sony only using IPS LCD but the image is sharp. Imagine sony z5 will use Super Amoled that 4k display + Super Amoled. LOL

                          Sony much better.
This explain why samsung has given S7 with sony sensors to reviewers/testers, and this result was expected for this reason.

Carbo, 12 Mar 2016I prefer left pics, exept for the graffiti one.The left graffiti is not as good probably because it was not properly focused.

The IMX 260 is scaled down by Samsung software, to maths or on par with sensors 😵

also i try to avoid comparing things in the background, when i look at pictures, unless i am the one who took the picture. because we would have no way of knowing where he focused on the image in the foreground. which could have a far greater affect on the background images , then the hardware itself. So when comparing i've learned to focus on the main focal points of the picture, unless there is just a drastic field of view difference between the 2.

i really dont care for fandom, and its so obvious who the fans are in the comments. To be honest im not seeing much of a difference at all between the 2. Of course im looking at them at work on a calibrated display. so obviously my monitor is not the issue. but other then the building image with the snow they are very similar results. and in that image the sony seems to have a much cooler profiling then the samsung. but i would swear that was a setting between the 2 phones being used. either accidently or an auto setting issue. because it is not apparent on the pictures with the locks. both were fairly spot on , when it came to the white in master. also i would assume the same goes for the writing, since again the samsung had a slight yellow haze on the white wording. which again was not present in the snow , or in the master lock. so this seems to either be an issue with the auto settings more then the hardware.
