Apple must admit their design flaw and recall the first units... every new design undergoes a certain debug process... and as for iphone 4, they we're pressured to early release the unit due to the gizmodo incident before..so it wasn't properly debugged...Just admit the real flaw and not by creating bogus misleading issues...

jobs is jealous of nokia so after they messed up the iphone4's RF issue they are currently looking for RF engineers which most of them work for nokia lol

In its letter, Apple just admitted to misrepresenting the signal strength in the past few years by inflating the number of bars displayed on iPhone 3G, 3 etc.
They would have gotten away with it too (and continue getting away with it) if not for the iPhone 4's bad antenna design showing them up.
For shame.

I hate it when people brag about their phones. All I hear is "better this" or "better that".. All that matters is, I'm NOT DUMB enough to buy ANY phone that has serious signal problems. It's a DUMB and SMART situation. What's it gonna be?! Btw, Apple have NO plans on recalling the IP4 based on the statements they have released on their website. Either you "should" buy a bumper guard AND "update" the bogus firmware.

How do possibly figure that AT&T stores do not have iPhone4's on display? Are you insane? The AT&T store I went to had 4 of them on display.
You think that just because the iPhone4 is in high demand, that Apple possibly couldn't have enough to even adequately equip their partner, AT&T, who is solely responsible for providing iPhone4 as a subsidized handset in the USA, & making sure that there are in-store models for users to get a hands-on experience?....you really are gullible.
You also have the audacity to ask me why would I try out a mobile in person before actually buying it? I guess I am not blinded by a phone with an Apple logo emblazoned on the back of it so much to cloud any rational decision making.

Instead of doing a RECALL they will Update the software so that it LOOKS like it's FIXED. With the hiring of the Antenna Engineerers lets just say Iphone 4GS will come sooner than we think!

its just that a big WAVE swallowed iPhone 4 that it is now malfunctioning
try to pry open your iThingy to drain and remove bits of sand, then blow dry, and reassemble, this procedure will solve your reception problems.
