I'm on a quest for the new phone. Since I had HTC Desire, Desire HD, One X and original One(m7) I would be more than happy to pick up the new M10, but after LG 3 I just can't go back to anything smaller than 5.5 - 5.7 screen. And at the moment, HTC doesn't offer anything other than M10 and couple midrange phones. While other brands spam the market. It's kinda amazing how HTC is able to offer, basically, one phone worth attention. Either I stumble in some rumors over HTC 10 bigger siblings in couple weeks I'm settling for Nexus 6p.

I've seen 1GB RAM, 1.2ghz quad core china phones locally on sale here in india and it's marshmallow! You know how to succeed in this this smartphone war? Be loyal to consumers and do OTA updates until the phone crawls! Nowadays, even 3GB RAM SD800+ phones are probably stuck on lollipop and OEM's won't update them even though it's possible just so people would buy their latest phones with latest OS. Just try it HTC. You're already bleeding now so it wouldn't really hurt.

I only see a few people dedicated to HTC that are willing to buy this phone without any real reason.
The phone is not competitive at the price it is sold. It should be around 500 USD. The camera is not so good, the battery life is poor, the design has huge bezels, the screen is average, the processor is no different than any other flagship on the market.

If you think about it: Any flagship from any company from now on will have at least a SD820.
If I were to choose between HTC and Huawei I would take huawei any day. Not to mention they have more than one screen size / battery size to choose.

Until now i am still enjoying my M8 at its full service. No complaint about it. HTC should have a good marketing strategist to be able to stay in the business. My heart still for HTC though I have no plan of buying the M10 simply for its high price. Had it been less than $500, maybe it would have been their biggest comeback in the market.

It is still a step forward as officials from HTC, it seems, understood the cause that led to these massive financial losses. It remains to prove through their phones next whether they will survive in this market or not. Until now, have not seen anything to tell me that they are on road correctly.

Its HTC 10 is a capable phone, and many would like to help HTC to stay in the business.
However, the price of the HTC 10 is really not competitive enough for many to pull the trigger. The cost of each phone should be around $250. However, the prerequisites to get $250 for each flagship phone is big enough volume. If HTC 10 can be sold with big volume. it can generate big enough profit for the future R&D. If the volume is not there,
the cost of each phone could be much higher.

I think the initial price for the phone with 820 CPU should be around $500. this would be able to attract some meaningful number of consumers to buy. $599 for the promotion price is not low enough, $699 is just a joke. These days in the US, brand new S7 is only around $530 sold on ebay.

HTC management, Chairwoman or whatssoever, need to wake up now if HTC wants to stay in the mobile device business.

If only HTC offered a reasonable price, this tragic fall of revenue won't happened. As a come-backing unit, it must be at a very reasonable price. I think this is missing point from HTC...

I brought a HTC one E8 dual for $450 and it worked just for 3 weeks . After that it has been in and out of HTC service . Quality control sucks. First time sim slot would not detect , after service I got a refurbished device whose camera had yellow tint. Again sim slot wont detect and its back with HTC

Imagine paying full price and using a refurbished device after 3 months of usage

Even $150 mobiles have better camera than this model.

Better to buy nexus for a cheaper price than HTC. HTC should file bankruptcy and exit mobile industry. Simply playing with hard earned money of customers and not providing quality hardware

This is rough news coming in right at the heels of what looks to be a really decent flagship in the HTC 10. I hope the 10 does well, it looks like a pretty complete and compelling package.

That said, HTC is getting what it deserves here. Almost all of their phones are way overpriced for what they are. And in 2015 they brought us the One M9 - a pretty bad phone by flagship standards (mediocre camera, overheating processor, subpar battery life). The market has spoken. The release of the HTC 10 indicates the company has listened to the market. I just hope it's not too late.
