nice images of other phones with a decreazse in reception. but is that due to the fact that they are held in the wrong position or just a lower reception because of the network strength? with iphone4 it was shown on VIDEO that the bars disappeared and connection was lost. with pictures taken in a concrete bunker there would logically be less reception for example. without video to prove that the reception was full, and declined after holding the phone in that way I still think it's manipulated by apple

xxxxxx , 19 Jul 2010consumerReports.org is the best source for fair review on a... more1. Consumer reports are American.
2. You have to pay a subscription to get their reports.
3. Why is it that the iPhone 4 is the ONLY phone they have tested that way, where are the comparisons based ON DOING THE SAME TESTS on other phones?
Consumer reports are biased, they rank the iPhone 4 as the best smartphone yet TEST IT DIFFERENTLY.

Just got myself another top of the line HTC (Android OS) instead.

iphone 4 is a piece of junk!!...why don't just they accept their faults instead of ruining the credibility of other cellphone manufacturers..this only proves that iphone 4 is really a big mistake that the people should know so that they will not buy this product!..

Why people fight for a company who sold them a flawed product? Why every good company is suddenly bad because Apple said so to prove themselves good although they aren't? Why are you blind, although you can see?

So the bars dropped lik... moreActually I just held the phone and used it for a few minutes each time. Every time a message comes up saying no signal. I then check my N82 which has signal. Have you actually read any of the thousands of reviews saying this is a common and well established fault? You are obviously a desperate fan in denial. Its not me who's losing out here I didn't buy one, you lose out. You fail.
I'm left handed though, so I guess I'm just not compatible with the iphone 4. I'll have to wait for Apple to release a left handed version.

There is a reason most phones antenna's are located at the top of the phone.... most people don't hold their phone at the top! Its common sense, and yes most phones do suffer from poor signal issues, sometimes, but this is a direct design flaw, and whats worse is that they pushed this antenna design as an innovation when common sense is that based on the phones design you WILL hold it on the frame and/or bezel.
Apple just shot themselves with the foot, denial quickly followed by deflection is not great PR. Jobs is an idiot... not the messiah, and he is supremely arrogant at that.
When someone with common sense takes over Apples design and engineering departments and Jobs goes then they will be leaders in this field, but all this behavior and bad press is shameful.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2010You asked why Apple held the press con? You mean you had n... moreSo your seriously saying other companies have messed up this big, but Apple is the only one to get attacked about it?? Seriously?
This is the first time I have ever heard of such an issue. We then witnessed Apple denying the issue existed. You say the media has been aggressive? Have you questioned why? Or do you think they just decided to pick on Apple???
Apple has been singled out here because they dealt with a blatant problem by lying. Almost everyone who has held an iphone 4 will know about it, but somehow Apple didn't spot it? You really believe that? Apple has lied, and is now trying to say 'but other companies have these issues too' - which is just another lie. You may see my opinion as biased since my views are against Apple, but I am open minded and my opinion is formed on facts. This is not bias, it is a fair judgement. I would feel the same about any other company who acted like this.

People have seen Apple's video. I didn't see Apples phone having any issues, just these minor phones showing signal issues it seems.
Meaning the people don't care about consumer, after seeing other brands fail, now will just keep buying the smart phone leader right.
And they do.

So the bars dropped like all the other phones in the examples.
Did you test them by making calls or downloading data?
Apparently the bars were showing the wrong thing which has been fixed, so how did you test whether calls are affected?
You fail.

As problem still persists with Apple current iPhone,I bet their next batch release end of July still a sell-out despite their applications gets more & more exciting each day. These few weeks after their initial launch till now,the topic on iPhone 4 is gettin hotter week after week until everyone in this world knows what iPhone 4 is.IMO,still Apple has the best applications around.Others have to wait for years to beat them. That's why,Jobs is not afraid of full refund cause he knows people needs it badly as well as developers with the intro of iAds.
