im just very gllad that this antena thing happened.apple always cheatted theayr costumers by overpricing the iphone.you could buy at half the price of a iphone from anyother brand a phone with double the features.but aplle lovers still buyed because thats how the mind of a fan works.but at least now with the antena problem they will finali swithc to another brand and dont get ripped of any more.

i have a se xperia x1 and i can't get it to lose any signal even if i cover the whole phone...

I have one of this... I haven't any problem.... My N97 mini in Spain, work more better.... It's a worse information... Go Nokia!!!

The real deal here is that they keep making the phone and keep seeling it like it is. Operators companys keep advertising iPhone 4 and releasing them so thats the real problem here.
They should stop building this phone and remake the whole thing.

Well, Apple needs to face the fact that N97 and N97 mini have been in the market much (more than a year)before IPhone4 and no user complained of a signal loss or call drop issue in these phones whereas IPhone4 users started complaining within a few days of the launch. Does that not clearly point to where the real issues are. Rather than trying to show the world that there can be signal loss in other manufacturer's phones, Apple would do better to fix their own problem in the IPhone4!

just hold the phone in a differrent way or use bluetooth headset, whats the big deal. At least now I know the anntenae is at the bottom of the phone, i did wonder why the signal did drop, but I have never had a dropped call, jawbone icon is a good headset, tiny bit price'y but very simple to use, and audio is great, easy to pair.

Why is Apple so late in taking a dig at Nokia??
Answer: They were trying since weeks to find a Nokia phone in which the bars would come down upon covering the whole phone with your hand. Not until a couple of days back were they successful in their attempts. After weeks of hard-work and sincere determination (lmao), they were able to find one such phone. But even in N97 mini, the calls didnt drop as a result of covering the whole bottom area, so they decided to just post a video of bars being reduced.

They already have been offered bumper cases, a software update and a full refund, GSMArena seem to be over doing it to make Apple and iPhone 4 customers uncomfortable.

It defeats the purpose of a cellphone big time. What you gonna do with a good touch interface, itunes blah blah, if you cant answer/dial calls, send sms ontime. APPLE SUCKS

nobody regulates the mobile phones industry? I mean any companny can build a phone and sell it without no one make any test on the product to see if it works ok?

Ok I understand your point and can somewhat agree about involving other brands into this issue. If I was the owner of a mobile phone brand and Apple accused my brand of having issues I wouldn't be too happy myself! I think Apple have gone about this slightly erratically, but I'm sure you will understand that it seems like everyone is on Apples backs about an issue, which Apple reckon other mobiles have too and this is being over emphasised purely cos it's Apple. All mobiles have reception issues but as because it's the iPhone any signal issue is now being treated on the same scale as a human tragedy, which this clearly ain't! Again I agree that Apple shouldn't involve other brands but I can see why they have resorted to this. I feel for anyone having a problem with a product they have paid there hard earned money for, but by Apple offering a free bumper case, a software fix ( it's helped on my 3GS), or a refund seems pretty fair to me. It's not as if Apple are saying "sorry, we can't offer you anything"

This definitely is the height of immaturity and irresponsibility. Why don't Apple fix the antenna problem which is being complained by their very own customers instead of showing other phones have faults too. Jobs said no phone is perfect, no one denies that. Customers complain, it's the duty of the respective company to deal with their own problems. But then the ifans are simply ignorant. I can see the storm coming....a big one.

I'm not a fan of Nokia phones. But, in fairness to the one being shown on the video, it's obvious that it's being tightly gripped. Any phone held like that, when their antennae are completely covered, would lose signal. With the iPhone 4, you don't even have to squeeze it. Just a touch on that bottom-left part and the phone loses signal, quickly.
And, honestly, who holds their phones like that in the video? The thing is, with the iPhone 4, the problem easily manifests even when held in the usual, "normal" way. With the other phones, you have to hold them in awkward ways just to reproduce the signal dropping problem.
It's disappointing to see Apple acting like a brat, pointing fingers to everyone else - telling their customers they're holding the phone the wrong way; dragging down their competitors by showing how their products suck too.
Really, they have got to stop this...
