Video shows the OnePlus 3 struggling to take advantage of its 6GB of RAM

16 June, 2016
We all know that bigger numbers look great on promotional materials and there is generally nothing wrong with getting more RAM, storage and other resources for your cash. However, if you are old enough, you likely remember the so called "bit wars" that raged on for a while on the console scene - definitely a perfect illustration of what can happen when tech advancements get featured in marketing first and functionally perfected later, if at all.

xperia x that has half of the ram did alot better ......

RIP 4 (1+3). GS7 edge's got more pixels to push, less RAM, and a more bloated software--and it still wins.

    RIP OP3.

I will stray away a bit from the subject, and no... dont want to bash OnePlus for the sake of it.
But couldnt notice, how the company eas changing this three years.
The first OnePlus was the flagship and a proper one on top.It didnt fall back on anything compared to the flagships of the day,and thats on hardware! On the software side it offered official Cyanogen rom and even unlocked botloader (niceties indeed).
What happen to this third gen?!?
Sure its not bad phone per se,but will hesitate to call it a flagship let alone flagship-killer (as the original was).
The leaders in the field up the game to much:
LG is offering unique dual cam setup, modular design(removable battery at least).
Samsung is offering good low light cam,waterproofing,VR...
And both are flaunting always on displays with QHD resolution(LG third gen in a row)
Not crucial features on its own,but when you add them bit by bit than you got a proper flagship.
Oneplus doesnt offer any unique features this gen,and even lagging behind some standard ones(like the QHD screen)!Ditching cyanogen was also a bad idea.
So only thing i see now,is a phone in the sea of other chinesse phones, which considering everything isnt even cheap to begin with. What is happening OnePlus?! What?

people want everything. what to do.
good speed. low price. blah blah.

In a previous video from the same channel a few weeks back, OP2 with its 4 gigs was able to hold Ashpalt 8 and TR2 in memory, and easily beat mi5, even on beta version of OOS 3.0
So it's not like they don't know how to manage memory in their devices, and I am pretty sure it will beat s7 after an update or two, just remember even s7 had memory management issues when it came out

and of course the one plus built quality is far far better than samsung.

Are you dare enough to prove this test by yourself? If you can't do that.... remember you are a coward whenever you type something in the comments section.

If you really think "India is kind of a big market but they honestly don't know how to review phones", go to youtube and see those reviews again. India's is kind of a big market, because we are using the mobiles not only by the brand name but knowing what we getting for how much we pay.

Even here no one can tell more than one Canadian mobile reviewer's name (I don't even know one).

Mind what you are typing in the public forum.

S7 has had so many updates to fix performance issues. Give OP3 to get a few to help improve performance. Why the hurry? I have both but find OP3 faster in real world use.

I ha... moreUhh I don't know why your going after gsmarena man, they are to me one of the best sites to go to for mobile news if not the best, and just so everyone knows I'm not completely shitting on the reviewers in India, some do well no doubt, but I find the ones I listed in my other comment more reputable in some cases and videos are more well done. But again don't go after gsmarena they have done a great job since I started reading in 2008 and I'm sure did well well before that, one plus 3 is a great phone for the price let's not forget that and even if there are memory management issues think how little phones actually have 6gb of ram, it's a new optimization process that I'm sure they will figure out
