Nokia N8 gets lots of stick in early reviews, we wonder why

03 October, 2010
The Nokia N8 started shipping this week and reviews of the Finnish company's latest flagship are spreading like wildfire. Checking out the first batch of those we noticed a certain trend, which we cannot...

I appreciate & applaud GSMARENA for getting down to business & publishing its views on rather unprecedented & unwarranted reviews done by big names in business.

Height was neither that mockery of a video nor butter smeared photo session by N8 against iPhone4. It was to find that though N8 is pretty capable device, OS is settled & mostly lag/glitch free but it is not good because it is on "Symbian". You people get a life !!! Such reviewers with their rose-tainted eyes can't see a smartphone running OS other then iOS & Android, which is "Shame" really.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010that was what nokian said n97!=5800. In the end both failedFailed? Pray tell how? Last I checked 5800 has sold more than any iteration of iPhone, and phones that are based on N97 hardware (ie. 5800, 5530, 5230, 5228, 5250, C6-01, X6 etc) have sold in tens of millions. What are you on?

N8 is a great camera phone but from my point of view the design is not that trendy and as much as Symbian is a stable OS, to the general public and especially to people who are new to smartphones, not a very appealing OS. People will choose Android, iPhone or Blackberry no doubt about that and now Windows Phone 7 coming up, Symbian is going to lose more of its grasp on the market...

Engadget, Gizmodo are very iPhone biased, and super biased against Nokia.

As for Eldar, Samsung bought him.

These days GSMArena is what you read for a fair and real review, please don't get corrupted like the others

kinda misleading title though I agree with the concept.those sites made a comparison whether its a camera or speed, not a review.first reviews came from British based sites and they weren't that impressed with the phone.as for Engadget and Gizmodo, yeah I felt that the comparison should have been dealt in a better and convincing way.

If anybody heard about Eldar Murtazin's scandal with Nokia, about the stolen Nokia N8 proto, it clarifies the reason why these guys are so pitiful revengers.
But it's very unfair and makes these guys so laughable in my eyes.
Earlier Eldar was the reference point for me in case of mobile phone reviews. Nowadays he's only a pitiful, huffy guy who has lost his objectivity and bought by Samsung and HTC. I suspect that the other sites like engadget are with close friendship with Eldar, so that's the reason...

Anyway, your argument is laughably ANTIQUATED. Cut the N8 some slack from your antiquated arguments and opinions, why don't you?
