Gizmodo video was seriously a joke. I don't know what they get by spoiling reputation of their own, or don't they have any?

Personally, I think it is inherently connected to the widely accepted disaster that was / is the N97. I was one of those who rushed out and bought the N97 on release ( here in Saudi Arabia ) but really, it was a major let down. I don't want to go on too much about the N97 - but basically, it has a list of features that many new phones still cannot match eg 32gb on board memory, FM Transmitter. sadly, the software let it down. So, the N8 - I reckon many reviewers are expecting a totally brand new mind blowing device, with an OS that will change the world, and a saviour for the Nokia brand. Again, the list of features is great. But yet again, it seems that Symbian^3 is not quite the OS that we were expecting, and the reviewers criticising the N8 still have the N97 'disaster' in mind. I sold my N97 after 10 months of use, and got an E72. I will not be buying the N8, but did have my eye on the E7. I'm still feeling a bit burnt by the N97 experience, which I suspect the reviewers are.

iphone has had same crapple look, menu etc yet every site gives it thumbs up. Every year it gets one or 2 major functions (which nokia had since the advent of smartfones) and reviewers call it breath taking, revolutionising features! Do u See some bias? Come on nokia N8 prove your credentials and don't bother about competition as you dont have any! And before ppl say im biased towards nokia, i've used iOS and anroids and i've hit there limitations within a week!

It's so true! Joshua Topolskys Engadget is American iPhone fanboyism at it's worst, Gizmodo just don't know wtf's up and theyr videos are sometimes just plain stupid, Mobile-Review is Russian carbage, stopped reading that site after the N8 bullshit Eldar did, he has ALWAYS been slanting Nokia phones.
GSMarena has grown to be 'the' mobile review site on the internet, you guys give every phone a non-biased trial and the site works so well with the brilliant Specs seqment, well ppased writing and a true professionals reviewing the phones.
GSMarena FTW! \o/

Ali, 03 Oct 2010GSM Arena shouldn't have criticized the reviews of other we... morevalid means? how? by shaking the phone (n8) before taking pic or changing settings so to make images inferior?

Ali, 03 Oct 2010GSM Arena shouldn't have criticized the reviews of other we... more"Just to be clear – we don’t have anything against any those sites. On the contrary, we feel like they are all pretty great and are daily reads for all of us here at GSMArena. It’s just that we feel they are not being perfectly fair on this particular occasion and the N8 is much too important to just let that slip."
They aren't CRITICIZING the other blogs, just making an inquiry on why they are sinking their claws into the device so much.
"we are not trying to play devil’s advocates here and try to convince you that the N8 is perfect. It certainly isn’t without its flaws and those should be criticized. All we are saying is that the device should be given a fair chance and not be punished for the shortcomings of its predecessors or just because the reviewers aren’t having much love for Nokia as a brand."

You are so right, its obvious that Edler is pissed as Nokia, Engadget and Gizmodo is Apple fanboy or takes money from them, i hope gsmarena will not take such tags :)
You need to be neutral and improvement should be appreciated and flow should be pointed out.
i am a symbian user since 6 years so i had not much problem with s60 5th addition either, but my form factor of desire is Nokia e52 which still i have, and if i say there is no other OS better than Symbian 3rd addition for non touch screen device then nobody can argue on that.
if these guys will bring Nokia down cuz its non American brand or a possible threat to American brands then who will provide me e52 style and price range phone? not apple, cant HTC or Andoid, so understand different people have different needs as well.

N900 has the best UI among Nokia. The UI in symbian^3 looks so outdated for a touch phone, may be thats the reason those guys hate it. The only thing holding nokia down is its UI, not touch friendly at all!

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010i have said it many times before, i hate the fanboism..Me too. I dislike it when Android fanboys spam the WP7 and Symbian articles. I dislike it when the Symbian and WP7 fanboys hate on the iPhone and BB articles. And I dislike when the iPhone (and maybe BB users) hate on the aforementioned OS'. Fanboyism is killing the fun and enjoyment of mobile phones and gadgets nowadays.
Why can't we get along and just use what we love without having to hate, people?

GSM Arena shouldn't have criticized the reviews of other websites. They have used a valid methods to evaluate the set.
I think you guys are now under a bit of pressure.
looking forward to what the GSM Arena review is.

Well this article makes me think a little-
The positive about this article is that GSM Arena is paying attentions to the comments we people post.
But why GSMA has to justify their point and highlight what other websites have to say about N8? I mean let them say whatever they want to and when they are reviewing the product, they can mention all the grounds and details on which they are evaluating or making comparisons. Is it like playing safe? Or trying to stop whining .......just a thought :)
