AnonD-442781, 06 Aug 2016Except SD 821 isn't much better, 256gb is simply not worth ... moreI agree with your point... They need to justify why they increased price so much ... Dont say SD is expensive simply... OP3, LeMax 2, Mi 5 etc.. are using same SD 820 (leave about 821) variant ...

Zenfone 3 Deluxe on launch day they said it will be 500 to 550 USD.. then why they increased soooo much suddenly ... I am sure with in few days they will drop price ...

AnonD-332941, 06 Aug 2016Was waiting for zenfone 3 max, at this price I'm seriously ... moreagree...I was waiting for this price to compare Mi Max,Zenfone 3 Ultra, and A9 pro...but now im certain that Mi Max is best among them in terms of price..

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2016And zte axon 7 or one plus 3 are not 'weak branded phones' ... moreYeah but zte or op aren't priced in the same way. That's my point. Asus don't understand their position whereas zte and op do. Asus are the Sony of the 'budget flagship' market.

the price really pricey not from what im expected. SD821 really jumped up the price. to me SD820 is good enough. these guys too eager to produce the first SD821 phone which make us zenfone fan dissapointed. its better to buy S7 only a few bucks extra which the quality and performance is well known rather than buying zenfone deluxe which may only good on paper. this is just my 10 cents. :)

AnonD-346466, 06 Aug 2016Hey guys, I'm one of those guys who really gets annoyed by ... moreExcept SD 821 isn't much better, 256gb is simply not worth it. Especially when many forms of media can easily be put onto external storage with no noticeable change in performance when using them.

The audio isn't that good, especially compared to say, the zte axon 7. Almost all cameras use scratch resistant sapphire glass.

And qhd doesn't drain that much more battery, especially on amoled displays. The s6 edge+ has a 5.7" qhd with 3,000mah, and has 83 hours endurance rating.

I don't understand why you're being so biased towards a weak branded phone that basically only has sd821 and 256gb storage going for it, which isn't a good reason to buy it over the default version. And when looking at the default version I don't see any reason to buy it over the zte axon 7 or even the one plus 3.

                    1. Fair enough. However, the new Nexuses using the same SoC will probably be cheaper.
                    2. iPad Pro has a superior NAND performance compared to the UFS 2.0 though...
                    3. The lines are still there. It's just that they put them along the edges of the device. Not really a serious engineering, IMO.
                    4. That's good. It just won't be beating HTC 10's audio performance I'm afraid.
                    5. Not really unique. Apple put this on their 2012 iPhone 5. And most flagships have this feature anyways.
                    6. OnePlus 3 has the same amount of RAM at $400.
                    7. Eh. Don't get your hopes up. The S7 has the best camera performance on a phone despite using a 12MP camera.

Hey guys, I'm one of those guys who really gets annoyed by an overpriced chinese/Taiwanese (in this case) smartphones. But trust me, the Deluxe version is really fairly priced. You may miss the nitty gritties like IR blaster or QHD display but find your way deep down and you'll really start appreciating the phone. Now consider this, I'm making a list of the things which might have imcreased the pricing of the phone.
1- SD821, it's the first phone using this phone and let's face it SD chipsets are no cheap.
2- 256GB UFS storages. Remember the time when apple devices sold their 256GB IPad pro for $800? Letme guess, never! Its cheaper . 256GB "UFS" Storage costs a fortune!
3- Full metal unibody with "invisible" antenna lines. That's some serious engineering. Again, heavy bucks!
4- HI-RES audio, which is kindof a sony exclusive.
5- Sapphire glass protecting the camera hump(no more scratched camera).
6- yes i saved this point exactly for the matching point number :P , 6gigs of RAM people! Neither iPhones nor galaxy's provide this at $800 budget.
Now about the QHD display, which is a major drawback, but i think it was a smooth move. Think about it, 3000mAh battery and a QHD display? We are looking at sub-50hrs in GSMArena's Endurance rating. With a FHD display I'm sure it will pass with more than 60hrs in overall endurance. So that's it fellas, I'm sure I've made my point, so it's not "overpriced", it's just fairly priced given their list of materials!

At last Asus announced their phones lineup for Malaysia. The deluxe with SD 821 chip is way too expensive, at RM3299. I think the normal SD 820 is sufficient, which at RM2599. Or the 5.5" model which at RM1699 is affordable too to many.

Too Much, overpriced So disappointed... I was waiting for Zf3 Deluxe Phone from Taipei Event. They said price will be 500 to 550 USD. Now directly jumped to 680USD to 750USD .

                                    No QHD,
                                    No IR Blaster,
                                    No Front cam Flash,
                                    No Dedicated Memory Slot,
                                    No Water and Dust proof.
No 32bit HiFi DAC ( only 24bit DAC Hi Res)

Nothing so special for extra price
Then why so over priced .. Disappointed Asus

I agree, manufacturers should only announce their phones up to a few weeks before release. A several month wait means most people have gotten about it and moved on.
