Law, 13 Oct 2010Gee I hope nokia update the firmware with this auto focus v... moreActually signing isn't all that bad. The trouble is doing it the first time. Next time it is pretty much click, click, done.
Here is a decent guide for those who want to give it a try.

Nice camera, though Megapixel isn't the absolute fact for the best result in camera phone still it does count for something (12 Mp!!!)
However..those hardware upgrades are useless nokia, just another long step toward the crown you used to throne.
I don't record HD video all the time,i don't snap pictures at everything i see,and mostly i can't stand that ugly UI of symbian^3,cause i deal with the screen most of the time, not with with the camera or video no matter how good it is,this is also one of the main reason why people start turning to iPhone or android devices,nokia..you might be connecting people but you failed to understand people.
Face it all people who used touchscreen smartphones use the screen more to interact with daily necessities,i'm talking about the fascinating screen, slickness of UI,speedy performance, and especially tons of Apps cause that's the significant difference between smartphones and featured phones, and so far N8 failed to offer those things.
Just stick around the featured phones and leave high end smartphones to those who understand what most people need.

Dipayan Bhattacharya, 13 Oct 2010Hi, I will be very happy if somebody can answer my query, ... moreit is the sound of the focusing system indeed. it is mechanical and unlikely to be fixed. pretty much every phone with auto-focus does this kind of sound. my Samsung Innov8 does that a lot in stills.

Besides, I'm pretty sure you could get the program officially signed to remove all the hassle. It just isn't worth it at the current stage.

Hi,
I will be very happy if somebody can answer my query,
When i was playing the video of N8 - continuous auto focus,I found that while the camera was auto focusing there was some kind of sound , I dont understand that weathere this sound is natural or a hardware error,
I personally use Xperia X10 and while shooting still picture(Specially while the camera is focusing) my mobile too produces this kind of sound glitches. It is natural or something wrong. Please advice,
Thanks

This is what I love about Symbian. You don't have to do rooting and all kind of magic tricks to get great hacks working. This is what open really means.

As I've checked GSMArena's review on SE Vivaz video samples..it seems like it is better than the N8.

I'm shocked to know that some symbian users, presumably, don't know how to sign a symbian app. No wonder many people don't like symbian. They have absolutely no knowledge about symbian. Signing a symbian app is super easy after you get the cert and key.

giggig, 13 Oct 2010GSMarena! we are not apple users, who are extremely dumb, w... moreYeah, we've been signing apps for years. But i agree that it's an extra task to what is supposed to be a simple installation. While i see the logic of a developer's certificate, some good apps like ttpod, are released unsigned and it drives away those people who don't have enough time to learn the process, and those who simply can't learn the process. They are potential customers, and you can't afford losing them to competitors. The competitors are offering them what's simple and easy, and they easily won their trust and loyalty, which is hard to earn back. Now i'm beginning to understand the fanboy concept. And nope, i'm not one.

Nokia give up already, you have been overtaken even by LG(great phones). If I want a camera i know where to buy one. What about the UI?Symbian^3 you say?Try to fix Maemo or your Meego.Miles away from the competition. Too bad, used to be a Nokia fanboy.

There's already enough resolution in the 12 Mp pics that N8 produces. Dynamic range is much more important, and this hack does probably next to nothing to improve it. And I really doubt the noise issue improves significantly either.

Jtk, 13 Oct 2010It's pointless for a phone with a good camera & camcord... moreImmature is the better description of what android is. Symbian supports long ago all the features other OS has only been getting nowadays.
You can criticize symbian for being not fully touch optimized. Which is true, we can't deny it's unpolished areas, and annoyingly complicated ways of doing things, but that's it. Symbian's getting there as we speak.
