Samsung pulls out the Galaxy S Froyo update due to bugs?

Hi! I'm back. I just did some research on why it takes long for manufacturers of mobile phone android devices to release the likes of Froyo 2.2 update.
..Android is an open-source OS that is very easy to be utilized for many devices using the platform. It is user and developer friendly as long as it is implemented in its raw form. It is evident in most Android devices today like smartphones, tablet devices and some mp3 players. When I say raw form, I mean Froyo 2.2 itself for example w/o the custom manufacturer U.I.
..Samsung for example is a manufacturer of Android devices. If Samsung just like HTC and SE adopts Froyo 2.2 in its raw form w/o adopting it to their own UIs, implementing it to their devices will be blazing fast. But that won't make any differentiation for competition if everything is exactly the same.
..imagine HTC, Samsung, SE implementing Android with no unique custom UIs exclusive to them. How would you know w/c is Samsung among the rest of the pack if every icon, controls, user interfaces are exactly the same?!
..Samsung is 1st android maker that directly competes face-to-face with iphone features. It is evident in making Eclair 2.1 trounce iOS on some benchmarks. Consider Samsung Galaxy S Music Player app as charming as Ipod.
..The reason why Samsung takes time to release Froyo 2.2 is because it is still making it's custom UI to adopt well with the Froyo platform. It's their unique custom UI and functionalities that matches well with iPhone features and outperforms it. It is evident in Gsmarena face-off article. Was HTC and SE custom UI great enough to trounce iOS features worth publishing?!..clearly NO!
Samsung Galaxy S makes the most of Android's popularity. Just wait and see once Samsung finally releases Froyo 2.2 final version. It will exceed our expectations. Apple only made 3 iphones focusing on software dev't that makes iphone 1st gen owners very happy before iphone4. But we all know that iPhones and Apps are very expensive. Samsung and other manufacturers made Android platform available to mid-end devices that are affordable. Now that is Awesome! =)

Ha ha ha so we even have the kiddies in this thread feeling the need to talk about the N8... even in their own thread they feel the need to convince themselves that they didn't bugger up with their inferior choice of phone! Loving it!!! :D

Optus says...
Hey Wayne, I am looking into an official resource for FroYo information and will let you know when I find it. We received 2.2 from Samsung a couple of days ago and we're now in the process of testing it to make absolutely sure it's ready for you guys. We are aiming to have the download available on Samsung's Kies service from early-to-mid November, so long as there are no major issues that come up in testing. As soon as the testing is complete and the update is available we'll put an announcement out here and through Twitter http://twitter.com/optus. Cheers - ScottD

Little offtopic... but somebody please suggest me some decent earphones for my sgs. Those should be good in audio quality with excellent bass levels and crisp voice quality. Super quality audio is least required. I want to purchase through ebay. The bundled earphones are also good but not as good as those bundled with my spica. Although both look exactly the same, my spica ones produce way more superior quality. Too good. But I'm looking for even good. Heard about creative ep630 long back. Anybody? kindly advice. Thanks in advance.
On topic... I think we should not be so desperate and can wait a little more long. Afterall eclair is not that bad is it? It runs quite smooth. WiFi tethering is already there out of the box. Not to forget the auto app updates with the market update pushed lately. Thanks.

samsung are rubbish. First they promised to deliver Froyo by September, than they delayed it till October, and after that they released it and pulled it out of their system! I mean WTF is going on here!!?
And now we even don't know when will they release it again, and even if they release it again can any one guarantee that it will work properly with out any lag?! This is the biggist mistake I have done, I wanted a change after my phone 3gs, so galaxy seemed the most appealing handset to replace my older phone.
But god damn it, if I have went with the iphone 4 it would be much better! At least I would have got the latest ios and also my phone would have worked very fast and superb with no lag + I would have got the flash for the camera I always wanted in my 3gs.
This was a mistake, and next time I will stick to apple, you guys make fun of apple as much as you want, but at the end we were happy and satisfied even with the limitations, unlike this shit*y device that has bugs and now they keep delaying froyo.

Please, please... Now SOE is good, when they have delayed their 2.1 upgrade for X10, now Samsung is stupid cause they have seen a bad upgrade and take it of the market? Galaxy and Android 2.2 could come in any time. Windows7 will not bother. Neither Symbian. Not mentioning the iOS 4. Today is ugly. We wait and tomorrow is perfect.

Did the update, phone feels slower and lags.
Android market is gone, ...
Did not find any advantages, so if I would have
known that before the update I would not have done it.
Good that I barely use the galaxy in favor of my iphone4 :-)

All of us lets get one thing straight, most of us are here because we have a galaxy s unit and we bought the galaxy s because we like it. we are not some sort of galaxy s haters and even after all its short comings we are still sticking with it (for the moment). So please don't waste time saying the galaxy s is better than phone x or phone y. We are trying to convey a message to samsung and that is " get your act together you idiots before we dump your products"

Well I've had the Galaxy S since July and it sucks that we have to wait so long for the Froyo update....
It's already released on other, hardware comparable, android devices. I don't get why we have to wait so long. And then even after the long wait (was supposed to come out September 23, then moved to end of October and now early November), it comes out buggy so they've pulled the download.
C'mon guys, get your act together. If you want Android being useable and accessable, you might want to stop the fragmentation, especially when poeple have high end phones running older version software.

Thank God for Samsung SPICA, Leshak, Antibyte and the rest that made SPICA is way better than Galaxy S!
