I still wonder why people are so pissed at nokia for putting full focus on their c7 and c6-01. If you dont like it, there is always the n8 people. The concept makes total sense to me. Full focus actually makes it simple for the users to take pics, faster too (without waiting for the auto-focus to kick in). My mom has a n82 and yet she just press the button without caring bout the auto-focus (whether is properly focused or not).

You cant do the reverse with a fixed focus camera. So basically the camera is less capable and no amount of convincing is gonna fool anyone buddy.. and honestly it would have been next to nothing for Nokia to give it to users.. but no .. why?? corporate policies dude.

I'm an N8 owner .. and someone who values the camera on my mobile phone ..

Its kind of a fact that every Mobile company has the strategy to 'not make a perfect Mobile' complete in all respects so as to sell other models in their own brands.

This hugely pays off in the short-term that people want better ones all the time and would stop buying stuff if they are satisfied with their mobiles.

Thats the reason we see features being left out and no mobile 'complete' and Steve Jobs has his own style of introducing the 'inadequacy' in a mobile and Nokia arent new to the game either.

But then with their declining trends Nokia has to start thinking out of the box. Perfect phones do sell and they sell like crazy a good example was the Nokia 5130 xpressmusic that had everything one could expect in a budget phone and sold in millions.

People may not change mobiles that often if they are satisfied, but then a mobile doesnt last forever either.. and get outdated as quickly too with the technology rise. So even making a perfect phone today is not gonna be perfect tomorrow. Ideally 'Perfect phones for a price range market' with different audience would cut it really well. Like a touch phone, a business phone, a slim phone and so on.

Wake up Nokia, and stop giving such stupid excuses for your strategies and policy coverups. You are fooling noone and its gets even more ridiculous with the days. The autofocus is the life of any camera and sorry Nokia basically u killed your own sales and no amount of false propaganda is enough to cover this up. Better own it up Damian and Nokia.

[deleted post]iPhone 4 and Galaxy S are having indeed AF Camera in a slim body but do not forget these handsets are bigger in size ant maybe that is why they could have fit an AF camera.
I agree that this new Full Focus technology is not revolutionary from the quality of the picture point of view. But imagine that the next upgrades will make slimmer/smaller shape factor devices include a camera that will provide better pictures and HD movies and who knows maybe AF too.
Remember, it is not about technology, its about what you can do with it.
                Cheers

At this point i agree with nokia. It is stupid to race the "camera quality" competition. Especially with the biggest bullsh*t called iPhone. Awerage quality is always enough, becouse if you go shooting - you take decent digital camera with you. Some idiots needs phones to show off, some people needs just a good looking comunication device.

                          i bought a C7 a couple of weeks ago. i'm loving it.
I bought the C7 primarily as a phone/communicator device, and wanted something that felt good, in the tactile sense, in the hand, the pocket and against the ear. it ticks those boxes.

the camera sucks closer than 50cm, but is adequate beyond. however, the video recording on it has blown me away.

I'm happy with N8 and would rather want AF than Full Focus. That was not my point. It also wasn't Damian Dinnings point, so people should stop saying that.

I'm also pretty sure that if I give N8 and C7 to 10 random people from the street, the end results will be better with C7. That is because with N8 you actually need to know what you are doing.

There are extreme fandroids (AKA Android Fanboys) too you know.
Each OS has its own pros & cons, the extreme fanboys included.

I'm sure most phone users, be it a Symbian phone user, an iPhone user, or an Android phone users don't even bother to bash the OS they don't use -- because it's wasteful and useless. Why not just enjoy the phones you're using? If you don't like something, then how about be a little more constructive with your criticisms instead of just trolling?
