Autofocus, specially on the N8, is really, really fast, like, half a second, or less, even, so the "autofocus is slow, i wanna make a shot now' argument doesn't work here.

That phone was beaten by n82 in comparison by gsmarena. Actually personally too. So if your talking joy clicking, i would rather go with a c7 than ur k850 because atleast the color can be reproduced properly

Believe it or not, not everyone wants an autofocus camera. And im one of those people. I'm currently using an E52 and i like it that you don't have to focus at all. It's more convenient especially when you are faced with sudden, unexpected moments that you want to capture. You can't do that with an autofocus cam. And regarding shooting text, i think the 8mp will more than compensate for the lack of autofocus. My e52's cam which is 3.2mp, can capture text with 12pt font clear enough.

Sails, 23 Nov 2010Go read the actual post, please. I think I believe someone ... moreI never claimed to be any sort of expert .. but I've had used a lot of camera phones .. and honestly speaking the joy of clicking on a k850i is yet to be relived for me on any other mobile so far ..

and it has the 'infinity focus' setting that lets me use it in fixed focus when I need no focus .. its kinda basic from my viewpoint.

You dont have to believe me .. but atleast do some homework yourself before you discredit someone and not just because they are not in the camera field.

Damian maybe in the Camera field .. but he is still a Nokia employee so his arguements are going to and has to be pro-nokia. get it?

If "Full Focus" is so good, why Nokia didn't use it in N8. I owned Nokia X6 (5MP, Auto Focus, Carlzeiss optics, Dual LED flash) and the pictures can't commpare with my new Samsung 8500 Wave (5MP, AF, Power LED flash) especialy in dark. Samsung is much better. Nokia sells only brand and name they don't sell good phones anymore.

Stuntman, 23 Nov 2010The original review of the C7 has an update. The update sa... morefor shots with moving objects, n82 can outclass any dumb focus phone. Nokia could have just added a sports mode with n82 shutter speed. As for having both landscape and people in focus, the result looks horrible. Our eyes never have everything in focus, we see clearly just what we are looking at. In my opinion, that looks both unnatural and ugly, but your opinion can be different. Many of the stunning pictures i took on my n82 were on macro mode. So please dont say that people dont use phonecameras for close up shots.
Doesnt really matter to me what nokia puts on their phones. The market will decide whether the trade offs are worth it or not. But saying an inferior technology has the upper hand over a clearly superior one, or assuming people are too dumb to understand two step shutter bothers me a lot. Sorry for my bad english.

The original review of the C7 has an update. The update says that with the sharpness level of the camera adjusted, the photos turned out a lot better than in the original article. It seems that with the Nokia phones, you need to make some fine adjustments to the settings to improve the performance. The same happened with the N8 because the default settings were optimised for space rather than picture quality.

Close up shots will still be an issue. I personally do not take that many pictures. Most of the pictures I take are not close ups, but I may occasionally take a picture of some document.

The reduced lag of full focus cameras would benefit action shots. I recently tried to take a photo of an orca that was close to the shore here one day. The lag of my autofocus camera made it impossible to snap a shot of the orca as it surfaced for a short moment.

Having everything in focus is also a benefit if the person is in the foreground and you want the landmark in the background to also be in focus. It's nice to have when you are on vacation.

As for the slimmer camera module, you can see on the N8 how the camera module protrudes out the back of the phone. I can see how in the future, more and more features and components will be packed into smartphones. If you are able to make components smaller, you can pack more features into the phone and/or make the phone smaller.

As for the comment about phones missing features, I personally do not want a phone with a lot of features that I do not need. The phone that I have (Desire Z) has no secondary camera for video calls. This is a missing feature, but I don't need it. I would rather have a camera without this feature than pay more for a feature that I do not need.

I have had many different brands of phones but the truth is that the camera in oldie but goldie SE k750 (only 2mpx) still outclasses most Nokia devices. Nokia can add billion megapixels but it changes nothing.

Full focus camera on mobile are good but definately not the best. Autofocus is the best suited technique to make a mobile camera to get closer to the quality of a digital camera. Full focus instead of AUTO Focus is just cutting the capabilities of camera. Full focus provide EDOF (Enhanced Depth Of Field), but instead of that i would like to focus on something and let the everything else to go out of focus in the picture. For example taking picture of your girlfriend or someone special. Those pics looks good.
I am using N72 now. And i am happy that it takes better pictures then C7 or C6 (USE GSMArena photo compare tool to confirm). And despite being a well wisher to NOKIA, sadly i am truly against this full focus thing. IT S***S
