Blunder, 11 Oct 2016By far, Samsung is NOT the best phone manufacturer. Not wit... moreTalking about build quality, Samsung is the one who manufactured the snapdragon chipsets in almost every smartphone out there. You are saying snapdragon have bad quality too? Most smartphone components came from Samsung. Every famous brand out there have a little touch of Samsung, even the iphones. So, there is no such things as "Samsung have bad quality".

If this situation had affected any other smartphone company, it would have likely meant the end of its mobile business. So at the very least Samsung can be grateful it has such a wide-ranging and profitable portfolio that is capable of picking up the slack. Samsung will get back on track, but it will take some time to fully recover.

Samsung ruined all credibility the day they started the region lock disaster and now they have let their dignity go the same way by risking customers life and health TWICE with the same device, thats surely a first.

Blunder, 11 Oct 2016By far, Samsung is NOT the best phone manufacturer. Not wit... moreI owned a Note7 myself.
And you say that it isn't up to the mark when it comes to build quality?
Coming to a conclusion regarding something that you haven't owned or used is an extremely profound way to show hatred.
The Note7 was the best phone that I have held in my hand to date. I own a 6S Plus due to work purposes. I still prefer a Note7 over the iPhone any day.
BUT, this battery fiasco has had an impact. I won't buy the next Galaxy or Note phone as it launches.

Well, at least they manage to create the most legendary smartphone ever with Note7. This will be in smartphone history forever. Any Note7 left will be priceless antique that collectors wants. As long as it doesn't explode. This whole thing affect their reputation more than it affect them financially. Note series might never sees a successor next year. They could probably introduce a whole new flagship model. S8 will be another S6 to test the market again with major changes. I think they gonna work on building up customer's trust and loyalty. The good news is they have plenty of mid range releases to cover the losses so it dont affect smartphone sales too much for Samsung. Profit wise, oddly increasing according to a news report few days ago; mostly coming from their components sales and hardware department. Note7 dead. All the haters can cheer. Arent you so happy to see your most behated rival brand dead?! Im sure you are. Meanwhile, I will keep my eyes on Samsung to see new things they can bring to the table. #prayfornoteseries

Well even though we all knew it was inevitable, that was a good phone.
And knowing that it could have helped shape the smartphone industry for the good, makes me sad.
Apple has stopped innovation completely. So there isn't anything new coming out of that company; ie the iPhone 7 or the MacBooks etc.
And the one company that did, has now been the victim to the biggest thing to hit the industry since forever.
Let's hope the advantage Apple gets allows it to make a product next year that's better than the current gen and also helps Samsung understand that being a giant, also means that you can be shot down by something the size of a stone.

AnonD-567503, 11 Oct 2016It will be the same, people will buy cheap 3rd party batter... moreI was wondering how long before someone started on about removable batteries. Exploding batteries that destroy the phone still cause a major issue whether user replaceable or not. At least one report stated the phone blew up while the person was in bed asleep and they woke up to see the phone self-destructing. How exactly will a removable battery help that situation? Especially considering I believe it was a unit that was deemed to be safe after the first recall.

Blunder, 11 Oct 2016By far, Samsung is NOT the best phone manufacturer. Not wit... moresamsung is by far the best phone manufacturer, just look at the marketshare, units sold, etc, and lots of people like touchwiz it has some great features, some of which only several years later that they were initroduced in touchwiz, were taken over in the original android os, as for build quality, they are pretty good, one of the best among android phones

People were praising Samsung and cursing lg for its response on the g4 bootloop issue. Seems like lg was a wiser company. Their g series is still selling while the note series is dead.

Curse you defective battery! You ruined one of the best device ever made! I cannot wait for the Note 8 or the Note S (Maybe they will name it Note S or S Note or whatever)! Now I'll have to get either the S7 Edge or the Moto Z Force. The Pixel XL just have Google Assistant and is overpriced compared to Nexus line
