Zach, 11 Oct 2016I'll give you a Note with 7 points why Samsung should have ... moreMy 4 years old iPhone 5,
3 years old Xperia Z Ultra and Nokia Mumia 1520,
and 2 years old iPhone 6 Plus
ALL surviving (and myself) without any fireworks thus far.
But you spooked me big time now man !

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2016No none is behind this, it's just Samsung screwed up.That might be true if it was actually Samsung that screwed up it wasn't a battery issue in the first place but something relies in the software or the way it was designed internally

Mmmmm. Not good. I think #6 is upset with Samsung for skipping it and now taking vengeance on the note7. Shouldn't have done that Sammy boy. Hold your own and keep moving steady. You have no one to catch up to. iPhone only sell a lot because Americans only want to push their own brand which is built by China anyway. So do your own thing. iPhone is not even second nor third behind you in terms of technology. Go and come again. Get rid of those battery makers you currently take supplies from. They may be on the payroll of the big "A" which could be the monkey in the wrench

AnonD-507785, 11 Oct 2016You wanna tell me how will that save any phone? Because as ... moreI'll give you a Note with 7 points why Samsung should have gone with a removable battery:
1. People are SMART! if they noticed the Battery getting suspiciously warm or puffing up a bit you can bet that they would pull the battery out immediately and make a complaint; saving the phone and informing Samsung Early.
2. Whenever Samsung Noticed the battery issue they could've just offered replacement batteries to the public instead of recalling all the phones to their factory, replacing the batteries themselves, retesting and repacking them; saving Samsung a lottt of money.
3. Note 7 Users would have the option of going with trusted 3rd party battery manufacturers like Mugen or Anker when the battery issue came to light; letting users save their phones, hanging onto their personal data and enjoying a higher capacity battery if they opted for the extended batteries.
4. None of the phones immediately burst into flames as the reports state since they aren't explosives, in reality the battery slowly puffed up first then slowly put smoke and caught on fire! There was enough time to remove the battery but due to the sealed-in nature of the battery there was literally no other option for the user than to just sit back and watch in horror.
5. A phone with a Sealed-in defective battery is dangerous since it's part of a circuit that's always active even when the phone is turned off as the circuit is never physically broken! A turned off phone is more like a PC on sleep mode that's sipping extremely tiny minute amounts of power; this active circuit helped the battery fail faster to the point of thermal runaway.
7. There's literally Zero Reason's why Samsung Sealed-in the battery other than planned obsolesce, the S5 for example is a water resistant phone with a removable battery! They could've just done that! Especially since the Note Series is a productivity phone not intended for wall huggers!

Steve Jobs, in the aftermath of the antennagate, once said: "This story has been blown out of proportion that is is incredible."
Now imagine if he was a Samsung CEO facing this disastrous Note 7....
