No, the phone doesn't explode or catch fire. We've only seen cases of the phone overheating and melting. The funny thing is that when you do a Google search, you quickly see that this problem is actually common with the iPhone, yet it's safe to use the iPhone and those using iPhone are smart ehr?

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2016Maybe you should test yours... To all the people like yo... moreOnly fools use a device knowing full well it has been deemed unsafe by the manufacturer and may cause physical harm or damage either to themselves or others. I wonder how someone who made all the excuses on the planet to use it would feel if a relative was injured by it and they knew full well it could happen when they gave it to them, having been warned explicitly by the manufacturer? I know I would not feel proud of it. Apparently some people think people's safety is not the prime concern here and are happy to try and dismiss the dangers. Just because something that has been deemed dangerous has not blown up yet does not mean it never will. Can anyone guarantee that in 6 months time another few thousand won't have suffered the same fate given we know there is inherent danger above normal levels. To say any device can catch fire and dismiss an explicit warning from the manufacturer not use it is potentially literally playing with fire!

So many Idiots saying "Do you know only 5/2000000 Note 7 catches fire?" and "it doesn't explode, it only catches fire!"

So stupid, did you even go to attend your lesson at school? Note 7 is water resistant phone thus air tight, sealed shut, low pressure inside the phone. When battery burns, heat produced increase the pressure in the phone. Phone is sealed air tight and cannot withstand the pressure so explode.

Also, what Samsung fear is not the number of phones that exploded, but the numbers of phone that explode did not show any sign of stopping at all. Not to mention even themself cannot figure out the reason it explode and cannot provide customer info to make precaution.

Savor , 14 Oct 2016Risky idea but Pixel should be released very soon. My take ... moreI've seen the V20 camera comparisons to the Note 7. It's absolute garbage compared to the Note 7. In addition to that it uses LCD over AMOLED which is another step back from the Note 7. The only plus the V20 has over Note 7 is removable battery and audio.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2016I'm only using mine until the Google Pixel reviews come out... moreRisky idea but Pixel should be released very soon. My take is this.. If you love Android, return Note7 and either get Pixel, S7 edge, or V20. If OS agnostic, iPhone 7 Plus should be considered too.

I say the closest to the Note7 ability is obviously the S7 edge. But dual edged screens with glass backs isn't for everyone. But if you love the Note7 design, display camera, that is the closest to it. Pixel you get the fastest updates and smoothest UI. V20, you get audio and camera capabilities with the removable battery. Then iPhone 7+ seems pretty solid all-around and should he ranked Top 3 to 5 in areas like quality of display, battery life, camera, and smoothness. A10 Fusion with 3gb RAM makes 7+ the fastest phone in the world.

I didn't get Note7 although I really was planning to until the first recall. Likely going V20 and will pre-order it next week. My #2 pick is actually the iPhone SE because how affordable it is. But then I saw the front camera photos and remember how sharp the edges were from that 5 series design. So I decided to put the 7 Plus just in case I plan to exchange the V20 if the battery or other aspects don't satisfy me enough.

The iPhone 7 series is probably still sold out by early November, so SE comes next. If no iPhones available, then S7 edge although I hate glass backs and the terrible ergonomics or may just keep the V20. So many alternatives.

                  1. V20
                  2. 7+
                  3. 7
                  4. SE
                  5. S7 edge

                  Nah to Pixel.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2016I'm only using mine until the Google Pixel reviews come out... moreYou are one lucky person....There isn't any other products in the market that can match price performance combination. Note 7 is way way ahead of every other products launched in 2-16 except may be S7 Edge. Pixel XL is outrageous price an iPhone 7 Plus asthmatics with its cheap looking plastic like feel of 7 Plus for its price, Note 7 can beat everyone by huge margin....I would have definitely bought Note 7 if it were available in my region!

It'll become a cult phone. Tbe value will increase. Unopened, sealed boxed ones will be worth thousands

Does this track iemi or model number? If so then there is the possibility of ported n7 roms to the likes of s7 and other devices.

[deleted post]Maybe you should test yours...

To all the people like you... Do you realize that only about 50 of 2500000 phones caught fire? Do you realize how small number of phones is that? And do you realize that Note 7 DOESN'T explode, but just catches fire? And even those that caught fire, do you realize that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY was killed or heavily injured by Note7 fire?
The phone starts smoking and then catches fire, but there is enough time to drop the phone when it starts smoking

And talking about safety, absolutely every device powered by electricity can catch fire. Nothing is 100% safe, but the chance of it bursting into flames is incredibly small, same as with Note7

I seem to remember that a few years ago someones iPhone exploded while he was talking on it, seriously burning his face. And that's more damage than all Note7 combined did

All of you are victims of mass hysteria created by media and competition

I think it is good that they take it seriously but it is not easy to change the phone in all markets.

I bought my Note 7 in China from a company in Zhongguancun the Electronics market in Beijing. I bought it in a small store that imports phones from other markets like Hong Kong I bought it there to be able to get a Note 7 that works in Chinas 4G net but still had Google on it in China the phones uses Baidu which for me as a non Chinese speaker is useless.

Now comes the bad part the dealer refuses to deal with the recall in China he is afraid to loose money and the Samsung China cant speak English even in their support group.

When I call them they cant answer well and tells me to go to the dealer and the dealer refuses to handle the matter which leaves me with a phone I love had no problems with and would have liked to keep but because of the global recall I still try to return to get a refund or another device (S7 Edge) but cant and I cant afford to pay another 5000 Rmb for a new phone and my previous phone a Note 3 is damaged beyond repair so I am stuck with a phone I should not keep and trying to get rid of.

Buying phones like I did is very usual for foreigners in China and never been a problem before until this global recall happens

So even if I like it or not I will need to continue to use my Note 7 :-(

I'm only using mine until the Google Pixel reviews come out so I can decide whether or not to exchange it for that or another device. Nothing out there on the market seems to match what this device can do.
