And those cheap BT headsets' music output will be crap. Removing the jack for no apparent reason is bad. To get the same audio quality of a 100$ earphone, you have to shell upwards of 300$ on a BT headsets. I value sound quality more than the convenience BT headsets provide. As Apple isn't going back on this thing i will stick to my 6s as long as it works, and look for other options who have the jack.

If Google removes the 3.5mm jack then they have to have support for water resistance on their next phone and a larger battery for the base model.

Nonsense. They didn't get any benefits from removing the headphone jack unlike apple who sells airpods or beats. It's not courage. It's suicide, Google.

As Google made such a big deal in the marketing of this phone that the 3.5mm headphone jack was 'not new', I'm calling BS on this whole story. It's been invented by some bitter iPhone fanboy who's had to buy some new (read 'expensive') headphones I bet. Could be wrong, but until I see it or read it straight from Google, it's pure sour grapes.

They remove some feature to reduce manufacturing cost and sell at high price. And those rich no brain people still buying to showoff. by the way, any smartphone above $400 is not for everybody like me. haha.

The Moto Z didn't have a headphone jack. I expect the next Moto Z to continue the trend.

And people won't find the "charging while listening to something" to be a big deal. Many Android phones have wireless charging support, and it would be trivial for 3rd parties to make appropriate adaptors if you insist on having wired solutions for both power and audio.
This headphone jack thing is a non issue. Remember, most feature phones in the past don't have headphone jack. Many uses proprietary ones (at least USB-C is standard), yet we didn't have issues back then. It won't be an issue either now. It's the nature progression of technology.
