Snapdragon 835 benchmarked: impressive GPU, multi-core results

22 March 2017
With double the cores, it is certainly faster in multi-threaded tasks.

J o m s, 22 Mar 2017Hey ranger, calm down. When you load a page or an app, what... moreNo, those are very much IO database searches for half or the most part. CPU plays a role but obviously much less so. Also I agree with you that Geekbench is not that important, there are better apps showing the same thing about cpu, like physics tests, cpu heavy emulation , video encoding. In all of the A10 absolutely decimates weak Qualcomm.

You're probably a Qualcomm fundie which is why you don't criticise this terrible company that can scarcely touch even last year's performance on extant android chips.

This is the real world performance:

Yes, they're not current phones, but the only reason why I show these videos is that nobody made a comparison video on the current phones. But both phones were released in 2013 September, and it proves that the emulator is running perfectly on iPhone 5S thanks to the superior single core performance, but the Note 3 is struggling. Of course, today's Andorid phones run this game well, so the next comparison sould be the DosBox emulator. Unfortunately nobody made it.

You load a page, it does HTML/DOM/Javascript/Image Decompression/Resizing and many more.

You load an app, it does mathematical calculations like what GB is doing.

You load games, it does CPU and GPU tasks as well.

These are real-world apps and not one-sided ret*rded app like Geekbench.

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2017Geekbench 4 runs cpu workloads , those have nothing to with... moreLoad of BS. CPU is nothing without the OS. The OS is responsible for communication between the app and the hardware. GB is compiled differently and optimized different per OS so if your claiming A10 is as fast as Haswell clock per clock because they both have similar Single Core score then you can join them f**ls of GB believers. A slight change in scoring algorithm will change the overall score of GB and that's what happened from GB3 to GB4.

S3mm, 22 Mar 2017Thats exactly why iphone sell like hot cakes despite the pr... moreApple's iOS marketshare rarely grows though. Whoever wanted an iPhone years ago, already has one. They just upgrade to a newer iPhone like it is a formality because they are already familiar with it or can't let go of their iMessages, FaceTime, and apps they already paid for. Stuck in Apple's ecosystem like a slave.

I do enjoy buying iPhones to profit from. I usually wait for the discount or promo and then sell it overseas. I consider the new iPhones like the Tickle-Me Elmos or Furbies craze for ignorant hipsters and poseurs. Turbo-Man! Then use my iPhone profits to buy better phones with a better mobile OS.

I'm a Google guy, so Pixel all the way for me with Nokia or Motorola thrown in the mix. Typing on my Pixel now and it is so smooth. My S7 edge SD820 would take me 2x longer because it would kinda lag or stutter, and typing on the curves can get annoying. For Android purists, there is only one choice. Pixel is just a rebranded Nexus.

[deleted post]Geekbench 4 runs cpu workloads , those have nothing to with the underlying OS, they're mathematical formulas that only hit the cpu. Geekbench 4 was built exactly so that to be OS agnostic and for the most part it succeeds. Again, stop spreading fud.

In anything that use the cpu primarily A10 kills any Qualcomm processor including the SD835. From 3Dmark physics test, to video encoding, to SpecInt cpu suite to Geekbench 4. It uses a bigger cpu at the same (or similar process), it makes *sense*!

Stop spreading nonsense and fud. I'm an android fan but you make us seems like uninformed fools.

if you would use A10 on android phone the numbers would be far smaller. It is software case. Many more proceses are going on Android devices than on iOS.

Okay so I'm not hating ZTE because I praise the Axon 7's near perfection, but seriously, they were never known for being the fastest, at least not as much as Samsung or others like Huawei, but ZTE could work out for it. For now, I'm totally dead to hear ZTE going to win a speed test
