Hey... Just noticed quite some performance hits compared to my old Android 2.2.1 XXJPU. Quadrant down from 1180 to 990. Plus there are lot of issues with Quadrant. Mainly the Textures dont get loaded. Plus the fancy application pinch animation which gets u a grid layout lags like crazy now !!

Others are working decently. Not silky smooth though, as someone had mentioned before

Well, I gave the update another shot and this time it works perfect. No issues at all. Just make sure you do a full reset before starting to use the GS. The only thing lacking here is pulling up all your previously installed apps just like the Samsung Nexus S does which GS with gingerbread doesnt do. Better UI and more features. Supports some games which didnt work when I was on Froyo (e.g need for speed shift). The camera is working with no probs.

Last night I flashed my Galaxy S with this ROM version and I got some issues... the screen had some issue using most of the media applications like galery, camera, youtube and local videoplayback. Anyway it didn't brake my phone, but was not usefull at all, so I found another upgrade guide which worked perfect and there is also a root tutorial.
If you encounter the above issues do not worry, just try the links below:

anyone who has had a galaxy s for this long and is still running the stock rom is nuts. Too many excellent custom roms available, I'm getting 21.6 avg in linpack and 2460 avg in quadrant running darky 9.3 with my own oc kernal at 1340mhz and -75uv. very good battery.

Hristov, 28 Mar 2011I have flashed my SGS. It is really good and stable so far.... moreQuadrant is sh*t. Question to ask yourself is, do you want a high score that's meaningless or do you prefer the silky smooth performance of this Gingerbread ROM.
