Jozo, 01 May 2017Overall, as a consumer I like iPhone a tiny bit more. Consu... moreIIRC, iPhone cameras have auto-HDR feature and it can not be turned off.
That should be the reason for the perceived higher dynamic range.

The only real difference I can see is that the iPhone has less saturation in the browns and greens. But none of the pictures stretch the cameras in any way. If the opportunity arises in future, test the resolution by photographing rigging or wire at a distance against dark and light backgrounds. That's a severe resolution test. Expose close to the sun or even contre-jour to evaluate flare handling. And if there's no moving target, take a few photos while walking. These are the sort of tests you used to see in professional photographic magazines, and they often showed very significant differences between lenses and cameras where still pictures of sunlit landscapes would be indistinguishable.

Seeing at the photos, IPhone's photos are clearly sharper, as if taken at a higher resolution than Xperia. I can zoom in and clearly see small texts and other small details. However, colours are better on Xperia however the exposure is a bit lower it appears.

Anonymous, 01 May 2017How about the solar battery ?I don't think Solar will do anytime soon. There are places with hardly no sun all day, and gadgets have specific temperature to maintain.

Even with old Z phones you can... morePixel doesn't, yet produces clearer and less motion blur shots than any Xperia phone existing, and no, Google doesn't even marker any motion blur-free images of their phones
X Performance could do that, but look how long it took them to get something like that.
Xperia X range finally started to have a camera app with zero shutter lag, when others like Apple, Samsung, LG, etc, already managed to get almost zero shutter lag since 2014.

Why are these companies trying to do better on things that are actually already acceptable as they are (camera, screen, speed, etc.).
My point is: WHY NOT MAKE BETTER LONGER-LASTING FREAKING BATTERIES?!?! Is that too much to ask???

AnonymouseX, 01 May 20171/2.3" is so close to the size of 1/2"

Even with old Z phones you can take a shot of moving car and makes a good photo.
It is up to who's shooting too.
X Performance : even with lock screen you press shutter, cam opens and shoots in 0.5s ....

Just look at the picture of size comparisons
If OIS is stopping the camera from such blur-free images, then why do the S8/S8+, G6, Pixel/Pixel XL, iPhone 7/7 Plus, etc. can capture photos with even less blur than Sony Xperia phones?
Their propietary EIS, which is called as SteadyShot™, also acts like an OIS, but at a better pace since it's the whole sensor that is shifted rather than only the optic lens. I seriously doubt this is what causes for their motion blurred images
