Sony's photos are so inconsistent, dark areas are totally dark and some colours are completely weird wtf. I thought their cameras are better now. After seeing this i'm skipping their phone now.

1/2" is almost 50% bigger than the current one.
OIS is not fast enough to work with PREDECTIVE HYBRID AUTOFOCUS that is an evolution of OBJECT TRACKING.

The default of auto mode is 12mp. Much better than 8mp of Z phones..
But it can goes up 17 and 19 mp.

Indoor shots looked mushed detail - I THOUGHT THEY ALREADY HAVE FIXED THAT?!
As a Sony fan, camera hardware must change
20.7mp 1/2" sensor w/ DRAM, f1.0, 1.5um pixel, OIS+EIS, and get Google/Samsung's Image Processing algorithm - that's it, is it really hard?
If I were them, I'd rather make a great successor to the Nokia 808 PureView and Lumia 1020, but seemed to be impossible to cram everything
May someone from Sony engineers understand this and enlighten them that this is not something from a flagship worth $700?

This new GSMA viewer feels like a downgrade. Even if you have a big wonderful high-resolution screen, the new viewer occupies only a fraction of the available space. It's such a turnoff....

Yes it is. Do you have a problem with that? Like I said, the best smartphone flagship's camera just comes down to people's personal preferences (for most users). Some people like blueish colours, some people like warmer colours. Some people like saturated colours, some people like natural colours. So, there's no need to be a b tch and to defend your favourite smartphone just because someone else have a different opinion than yours.

X Performance got the same camera as the X, and somehow produces even better results

To be honest I could see any difference between the cameras? when you start getting to that point I would suggest you buy a decent DSLR camera anyways.

Overall, as a consumer I like iPhone a tiny bit more. Consumer = I want nice point and shot photos on auto.
Sony wins in the situation when there is good light and no big contrasts and then produces more "punchy" colours. I know that iPhone ones are probably more true to life, but I want "nice" photos from vacation.
Sony loses when there is high contrast between different parts of the scene are present like in building photos (13) or beach with stones(25). Then the dark part is too dark to me. Also, what is with the left bottom corner in the beach photo(23)?

AnonD-77186, 01 May 2017Sony cam far better. I was expecting better tbh. zoom in on the images. see the fuzzy artifact from the software, looks horrid zoomed in. Much prefer my 6P camera funnily enough.
