OnePlus 5 jelly effect is natural, the company says

29 June 2017
OnePlus reassures people that it uses "high-quality components", but the bottom line is that you shouldn't expect a software update to fix the problem.

It seems like a software method to prevent glitching, by slowing down high density content

OnePlus is on a horrible spree. Suddenly they seem like an evil company.

Seems like it's hardware issue which can't be fixed (easily) with some software workarounds. If it's not quite noticeable, just don't mind it. Otherwise don't buy it.

Try the 15 day "no quibble" returns. Good luck with that!! I had problems with my OP1 from day one and never got my money back or a replacement after 28 days or emails back and forward, the door was slammed shut. POOR customer service!!! OP has lost that niche of "never settle" they stood out with high feature a low prices......they just get higher and higher in price and see what they can get away with.

I guess i will be looking elsewhere for my next phone. The One Plus 5 is riddled with so much scandals ranging from being an i-fake to their camera not delivering and now the jelly effect. I think They should have named it One Plus 4 after all, since this is pretty much bringing them bad luck anyways LMAO.

"IF", a big if, the display is an update from the 3T one, it seems that in OP 5 it's mounted upside down. If the direction refresh top-bottom is the same in in both, it could be the source of the jelly effect problem.

No idea what is happening to OnePlus but their response towards issues with OnePlus 5 have been terribly handled. First with the benchmarking cheat, and now with the jelly effect. In both situations, they brushed it off and trivialized it. Way to piss off your fanbase. While such attitude is notorious with upstart companies in China, arrogantly telling you take it or leave it, it is not the norm for Chinese tech company. OnePlus certainly stands out this time. So much so for talking about improving customer services, and winning back their customers.
