Anonymous, 03 Aug 2017There is nothing good with having 3.5mm jack. Can't choose ... moremy priority, and probably 99.99997% users out there, is to be able to charge and listen to music at the same, without incurring extra cost. Not much people know what DAC is, let alone customize it

AnonD-558092, 03 Aug 2017You surely don't know how it works. Remember the Galaxy SII... moreI surely have no idea how it works. Do you? Save the real and irrefutable evidence to court sessions if there is any. Why would The Samsung allow other brand to first unveil something that resembles what their enigmatic engineers are presumably making at high level of secrecy. Because Samsung knows their diehards are very forgiving and the mass in general has selective amnesia. If samsung is working on the same thing that the other brand is working why not tip us or indirectly alude to it before someone else boldly announce it not several days or a week after. Yes of course there's always the trusty term simultaneously.

AnonD-43988, 03 Aug 2017Curved screen.... Not a fan.... My biggest concern is th... moreNope, as long as consummers keep buying low autonomy phones they will keep producing them.

Think it like that. A lithium battery has about 500 cycles before starting to considerably lose charge (i.e. becoming increasingly useless).

On the good old days you could have a spare battery which you could pop while charging your battery into a cradle. Meaning you were having a full cycle every 2 days. Given the 500 cycles that typical li ion batteries can last you had at least 1000 days before thinking of replacing your batteries.

Noaways we get phone with 6 hours of screen on time (4 when gaming). This translates to 1 full cycle per day on average, meaning that after 500 days your phone would start losing charge very fast. Include the fact that batteries are now sealed, and before 18 months are pass you would probably be needing a new phone.

In a certain, peculiar way, it is genius. And unless a massive campaign against sealed batteries starts on social media you will continue being maltreated by the same ol' same people.

*That* is what complacency brings and the belief that technology always move forwards (it does not if consumers stop demanding the cream of the crop). I mean think how much worse many of the modern phones are *in practice* from 3 year old phones. Often less apps in memory, far lesser autonomy, no 3.5mm, no IR.

Sure you got a better processor (not by much in fact) and better camera, but much of the rest regressed. Goes to show that technology does not always move forwards, sometimes it moves sideways ... others yet ... backwards.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2017Oh, 3.5mm fanboys crack me up. You only support the format ... moreActually 3.5mm jack (currently) has a big advantage: its a universal standard. Without the 3,5mm jack we will have lightning headphones, USB-C headphones that feature the official standard, and proprietary USB-C audio protocols like HTC. USB-C headphones don't work with every device that has USB-C, and they don't work with devices that have Lightning.
Should Apple switch to USB-C and every manufacturer would use official USB-C audio protocol, I would have no issues switching to USB-C headphones. But currently? no way.

Mikey, 03 Aug 2017I wish this anonymous moron knew what he was talking about.Oh, 3.5mm fanboys crack me up. You only support the format because you don't like most forms of technological change, you are the modern form of luddites.

3.5mm is a throwback to the past, it offers no benefits that usb c + DAC cannot have. Acually it offers less (not reprogrammable, single function, bulky). Honestly you and your army have 0 arguments. You support a dead format...

All the while you pretend to not see the biggest travesty happening before your eyes. Lithium batteries gain about 10% more capacity every 2 years, meaning that we are at least 20 years away from a true day phone (15 hours of screen on time).

Yet we already had that in the form of replaceable battery. The removal of replaceable battery took us 20 years backwards in technological development, yet not a peep from you.

That is what I called misdirected priorities. You care deeply about something that nobody should care about and ignore what everybody should care about...

My biggest concern is the battery.... Will any frakking flagship in 2017 use battery larger than 3500 mAH?

Simply awesome. The V30's lower bezel is a good deal smaller than that on the slim bezelled G6. I hope they put in a huge battery too.

What? Curve screen! This isn't good for me, this is the reason i don't want an S8 or S8+. Hopefully they make a flat screen option for that P-OLED screen.
