Those of you who got the update- Congrats! Wanted to know the following:
              1. Did contacts, sms's, apps, photos, videos, songs, ringtones, etc get wiped out or were they still intact after the update?
              2. Did you have to factory reset after the update?
              3. Are stock email app & facebook app usable now?
              4. Is the filesystem rfs or ext4?
              5. What is the quadrant benchmark score?

Do reply even if you have answer to only one question. Thanks. We're waiting for the update here in India.

Al , 23 May 2011Hi there I have the SGS for a couple of months with built... moreWith apps?
None at the moment. In few months there will probably be some apps that would need the Gingerbread update like there were some apps that didn't work without Froyo update. Of course there will always be some alternatives to those apps, but I would suggest that you update to Gingerbread. If not now at least in few weeks/months, because of other factors (stability, longer battery life, other improvements). I will also do so in few days/weeks (I'm in no hurry).

Al , 23 May 2011Hi there I have the SGS for a couple of months with built... moreSome apps need a higher firmware version to work...
But also, as I said below, I've just updated mine (again!)
                                      And it's super-snappy...
Froyo GS1 was a bit laggy and crashy...
I have to say, this is the fastest it has ever been!
It'll be a shame to get rid of it next month!!
Maybe I'll hold on to it for another month or two...
Until Xperia Play comes down a bit in price...
                                      ;)
I have to say though, it was a close call between Galaxy S2 and Xperia Play..
It's only because they're both on 12 month contracts here in UK and I've had a Galaxy S for a year, a change is as good as a holiday (the Galaxy S2 looked super lovely!) far nice than I thought it would...
But it's still too similar a design, 12 months for an added controller underneath? YES PLEASE! :)

JVO is kind of buggy, 3d performance issues and crashing when run aura 3.0 or 2.1.3
