Got to love how they cherry pick what information they give.
Not all LCD screen are like what they say.
Igzo ips one can be almost identical to OLED ( beside contrast that i give it to oled they win hand down ) and even use less energy than oled.
My essential phone screen use much less than a S8 by example for similar size of screen.
PS: those igzo ips screen can also do 120 refresh rate something not possible on oled for now at least.
PS*: also no burn it on LCD.

oled is nothing but a gimmick that is making everyone one fool bcoz it doesn't shows accurate colour and punches the colour .
the phone makers like nokia,sony and xiomi which use lcd and nothing can best them

And lcd is generally calibrated with saturation to make it appealing.

LCD is much better than OLED. OLED's disadvantages far outweigh it's own advantages.

OLED is much better than LCD from a technological perspective.
However, the worst part about it is the O.
The fact that we use Organic sourced diodes means we can't have them as accurate, as bright, as responsive, as efficient, and as long-lasting as possible.
So until we start using Synthetic diodes (SLED? mLED?), the industry will stay as it is.
And we do have Synthetics, however, they are extremely difficult to manufacture, are only produced in small quantities and extremely expensive. Once we crack the quantity problem, the other two issues should resolve themselves in time. And after that, its all about mass-production and marketing.
I feel like the thing that will make all of these obsolete is holograms.
Not primitive two-dimensional, or one sided holograms... but something akin to Star Wars.
People can wear two wrist/bracelets on each hand, and shine a "touch-air" hologram to navigate a UI, play hologram videos, and interact with virtual games in the palm of their two hands. Although, I think such a technology is at least 30 years out if I had to guess.

We are talking now a days phones that are 500ppi lol

Real life usage is the best thing to do, I did.
My Asus Zenfone Max has a 720p IPS LCD display, and I compared it to my friend's Galaxy J3 2016, which also has 720p display but Super AMOLED instead.
I do like his screen a bit more, but my Zenfone Max is no slouch, like I don't feel the need to actually replace it.
But when I inspected the two screens closely, I can tell that my Zenfone Max has better screen clarity than the J3 2016. It's like something is slightly blurred out on the J3 2016's screen while on my Zenfone Max, it just looks a bit pixellated at the closest inspection, but everything is clear and can be read nicely. Oh, and it looks sharper at a normal viewing distance, too.
Diamond PenTile is just no match to RGB in terms of overall picture clarity. A 2K Diamond PenTile OLED is just as sharp as 1080p RGB IPS LCD, if not any better.

You won't see any difference in sharpness between pentile matrix and normal RGB matrix no matter how close you look at it(even if you touch your nose to screen and look).
