Best screen: S8
Best Speakers: S8
Best Smallest Phone: Samsung S8
Best Biggest Phone: Samsung S8
Best Phone with Bezels: Samsung S8
Best Phone without Bezels: Samsung S8
Best Optimized Phone: Samsung S8

The S8 must be a godly phone, man i can't stop laughing. Looking at the horrendous S9
that is a clone of this with nothing Innovative. I can still say people will vote for that piece of garbage and proper solid phones, like new HTC, Sony, Nokia, Huawei and other brands will just get put down. I ain't touching a Samsung phone as long as i live. Nothing but overhyped garbage with features people don't bloody need. Bezeless screen was made by Sharp not these Korean copycats lol.

AnonD-183110, 24 Dec 2017s8 is far from being compactS8 is a 5.8 inch display phone in a body as compact as 5 inch phones. Still weighs only 150g compared to 175g of iPhone x and around 200g of iPhone 7 plus and 8 plus which are both just 5.5 inch. S8 is definitely the most compact flagship of the year... Your xiomi, vivo are heavy bricks.

Nonsense... Sony XZ1 Compact and iPhone 8 is the real compact phone

The only compact phone I'm looking forward to is the Sharp Aquos R Compact. Unless Sony announces a nice 5" to 5.2" 18:9 compact phone.

S9 will lose this crown as the incompetents at samsung decide not to include dual camera... I don't want a S9+ , I don't want big screens, but still I and MANY PEOPLE want top end phones, with top end cameras with regular screen sizes.

Speaking of compact, is the XZ1 compact not the most compact of them all? Should'nt that make it the no. 1? With best of performance and best of battery etc. SMH for GSMA

From all phones only one is compact - Sony xz1.
All others are not compact, but with regular sizes.

My mother-in-law ask me to buy compact smartphone for her, GSMarena said S8 is a compact smartphone and win the pool, then I buy purchase for my mother-in-law, but she is unhappy because it is not a real compact smartphone, she want a small smartphone for handy. I just cheated by the marketing and trends._

Z.AL, 24 Dec 2017S8 is a great phone, but it's not "compact". The list has o... moreI still really have no idea. The new 18:9 aspect ratio makes phones smaller by 0.5" only, which makes it almost as big as 5.3" 16:9 aspect ratio smartphones, if u remove the 0.5 from the 18 for SAMSUNG's aspect ratio. I guess they really had big hands to hold the GALAXY S8 entirely like how I hold it when I got my first hands-on with it a few months ago, that's why they say it is "compact"

S8 ain't compact. It's still a big phone. Nowadays there are no compact phones, only the Xperia XZ1 compact is one. And still, when I compare that to my Nokia N8, it's huge. The time of compact phones is behind us, sadly. The only manufacturer doing a real effort to come with a so called compact device is Sony.

S8 is a great phone, but it's not "compact". The list has only 2 real compact phones, Xperia XZ1 and iPhone 8. C'mon GSMArena, you expert on this are you?

The S8 doesn't belong in a compact category. Too big.

One handed use is impossible on that tall screen. Same width as the xperia but not even close to being as comfortable to use.

By that logic we can say for every phone that is compact in a way "so what, note 8 is "only" 2-3cm taller than xperia, it's compact". Of course dimensions will not be drastically different but just look this size comparison and you will see major difference in picture, yet alone if you physically hold phones in your hand https://www.phonearena.com/phones/size#/phones/size/Samsung-Galaxy-S8,Sony-Xperia-XZ1-Compact/phones/10311,10650

Deserve win no doubt, still don't think it is compact, compact for it size and screen ratio yes, but there is smaller phones in size which definitely more compact, probably XZ1 compact is best, but when you look actually on the size of dimension, xz1 compact not much smaller than S8 :)
