i was an apple hater for years until i tried one and i am impressed..The smoothness of iphone is just that bit better than a 1.2GHz dual core,1GB RAM,MALI 400 sgs2..There are them limitations but i get around them,,I said their was NO MMS or ringtones of your own but its untrue. The quality of the product is gorgeous. All that hassle of any other O/S is gone when using iphone4..

So i was a hater and got banned many times off gsmarena with hatred and misinformed ideas..So i bit the bullet and got a second hand one which was still expensive BUT i keep taking it with me each day instead of all my other fones..

What is horrible to read is my lovely Nokia N97 forum which i got working fine "but" the people on there ATM are asking same questions which have been answered years ago...These people have just got an n97 and are having trouble with it..So i mean that not everyone is educated in this world and they are still buying old fones..If they were given an iphone they would have no trouble and be happy,,thats whats happening with the general public like aunties,grandads,non-techys they are buying an Apple product find it easy to use and quality built and there hooked...Then word of mouth spreads that the non computer literate can have a machine thats easy to use and up go sales..

If you got a group of non techy folk of any gender/age/nationality and give them a pc,android tablet,iphone4 and galaxy s2 i would love to see their opinions after 1 day...We know the outcome dont we,,Apple products just work.

I'm currently a Samsung user but by the time I can upgrade my phone, I'm going to compare all the available devices before I purchase them. I wouldn't blindly choose another Samsung if say it's worse than another Android device from HTC, iPhone or a Wp7 device at the time. I'm completely open to purchasing another Samsung device if they can maintain the lead when I need to upgrade my phone. Brand loyalty eliminates this open option to try other products... Thats the most fun part of shopping isn't it?

[deleted post]The only one's brainwashed are you Androids. All Android phones contain a chip which irradiates the brain, causing negative emotions towards Apple. When Google feel that enough users have their phones, they will boost the power of the chip, making all Android owners go out and kill anyone not using an Android phone. Did you see the Spongebob Squarepants Movie? Eric Schmidt got the idea from Plankton's plan to rule the world.

If you believe this, I'll also believe that Apple users are brainwashed: all iPhone's are covered with a thin layer of pheromones. When you unbox the phone you inhale the pheromones and immediately fall in love with Apple.

Anyone who used an Android more than a year ago, then used an iPhone, will think the iPhone is great, and the Android only had potential, and forget it.
The other way, an iPhone then an Android in the last year, will never use an iPhone again due to lack of usability, from both hardware and software.
Popularity of Android also shows this.
The only ones sticking to iOS are iPad users, users with too much invested in apps, or simply too arrogent to try something else.
Windows Phone, like Android, kills iOS for usability, which used to be apples strong point.....but where lot living in the past, those days are long gone.

                        Very misleading wording.

The last sentence is where the only real guts is.
60% staying and 31% pondering, this is still a plan to buy.
                        Effectively saying 9% leaving.
This makes Android at 91% and iPhone at 89%, ignoring brand loyalty on OS.
What this shows, is, Users are quite happy with both OS's, but there is no brand loyalty by Android users.
This can't be compared as there is only one for iOS.
Effectively, this is one of the most meaningless surveys, and intentionally misleading I have seen.
Why are they trying so hard?

That's why i think it's very stupid and childish talking about phone what you have never owned, you need to own iPhone to understand why most of user like it.

ubs should have stated where they conducted this survey. if they did it in the US then that is logical. i bet if they did the survey in south korea, samsung would come out on top. this survey is misleading if they do not reveal how and where they conducted it.

People stick with the iPhone because the software is brilliant. It has the lot.. it works seamlessly with iMacs, iTunes, iPads... its the factor that Apple have a batch of products that work together perfectly in so many ways. The quality of the products are very high.. this is why they hold their value. I was very anti-apple, until i actually tried it, and realised that I was criticizing something that actually has none, or very little flaws.

The fact remains the same. If you have a manufacturer that makes both the device and software, where users have purchased apps or downloaded music and other stuff, you are more likely to get the next product. This is so because the apps won't be transferable even if you want to which will be such a hassle to get a new OS and start from scratch buying all apps and music whether free or not. So apple took a big risk in the beginning but it was a smart one. That I give to them but I will still wait for windows domination.

The percentages don't matter when it comes to manufacturers because all combined still beat apple like say PC to MAC or Android to IOS. People need to stop comparing based on Manufacturers.

Now comparing BADA OS to IOS is a good comparison, but then you can say BADA is new and isn't global yet.
