      Anyways, last year, I would say that the camera on the V30 is better than any sony's, but ever since the XZ2, the camera is on par with every other brand. And from the samples I have seen, XZ2 Premium's ISO is very usable up to 6400.

This allows bigger lenses, sensors or even 4x optical zoom.

                      To be honest, it's Sony to do 3 or f cameras but really do we need it when smartphone cameras need to be decent in a general concept because if we go pro photography then we need to take a professional camera with it's big hardware. Smartphone cameras are design to give a good moment pictures, click and and capture.
                      Yes a smartphones are more than picturing and if you view Sony's battery gives the same amount of durance that the competition gives. On top of the their LCD is quite good and beautiful. They give 6 GB of Ram and 64 GB of Rom but I wished this to be 128 GB specially since it is $1000. The durability and the waterproof are quite good and actually better than the most. This phone is perfect but again the price is debatable

                        To conclude this, you should only raise your ISO when you are unable to brighten the photo via shutter speed or aperture. Else, this new development is not really useful if those two areas are not improved by Sony yet. Optimally, you should always try to stick to the base ISO to get the highest image quality.

                        Please dont mistake Sony making you believe using their new higher ISO12800 directly is better for your shots. Nope. Use a longer shutter speed first to get better low light shots before you start using the ISO setting. Bigger aperture camera also helps in low lights. If all else fail then you can start using the ISO setting. Just some basic for the camera newbies.

I choose LG, since they have good (lense) hardware and software (manual modes with 30s exposure etc). Though it was a shame that they made the camera section smaller, because of the improved f1.6.

                          Sony produces good sensors, but you don't get good lense hardware or software atleast in 2017. If Sony just like LG and Samsung releases a four or five camera phone (normal, telephoto, wide angle on the back) with good software (advanced manual modes) and big sensors and lense hardware. I might consider a Sony as my next phone in 2019/2020 or stay with LG if they offer the same or have also other improvements.

                          A phone is more than a camera or the sensor it houses. You also need to look at battery endurance, lcd or oled screen, microphones, bloatware etc.

And S9+ won't have any jittering as long as you long as you avoid shooting in 4K 30fps (where XZ2 also stumbles hard).

                              KamAbdi, 12 Jul 2018Honestly you don't understand More light means clarity of ... moreThere is not "more light", higher ISO means that the sensitivity to the light hs been increased - So if the ISO value is doubled, the information gathered by the sensor is amplified twice as more, which gives you brighter exposure but more noise as well. XZ2 Premium can achieve such high ISO because it combines data from the color sensor and the monochrome sensor in real-time to improve noise performance, since monochrome sensor is theoretically 3 times as sensitive to the light as the colored one and S/N is significantly higher.
                              The only, and the most significant problem with this technique is that since the ISP (in this case AUBE Engine) has to work so hard to merge every single color and mono images into one, the resolution is limited to 1080p when using this mode. The framerate ia also capped at 30fps, and in 4K there is a possibility that this one performs worse than P20 Pro or even loses to S9.

The phones are getting a bit thicker again for larger batteries, so guess we will also so larger sensors again with thicker lenses. If not a f1.6 is better than a f1.8. Guess this is the year of higher iso, while last year was all about larger apertures.

                                    OIS is great for photography, but for video EIS is far superior. Ask Google and Sony. They use EIS for video.

                                      If these indeed captured by XZ2p then it will easily be one of the best low light shooters out there, but.
                                      I won't bite marketing campaigns from any company. I will wait to read reviews and try it myself before I say it's the best.
                                      Still iso of 12000 for video and 56000 for photos is way over what other phones can do. Sony again is ahead of the competition.

                                        This is a BLATANT example of FALSE, MISLEADING, and FRAUDULENT advertising. Claiming that a small sensor phone can capture extremely low light photos at up to ISO 51200 or extremely low light videos up to ISO 12800 WITHOUT telling the user that the video and photo output is ACTUALLY UNUSABLE, HORRIBLE and MUCH WORSE than a WATERCOLOR PAINTING riddled with SAWDUST and SMUDGES is plain DESPICABLE. I'm afraid Sony is starting another faddish trend in HIGH ISO's like what happened to the megapixel camera race. I pity the buyers of this phone who will think anything above ISO 800 in a small sensor smartphone camera will actually usable.
