Go ahead Google, do whatever you want; competition will soon step up anyway.

Farhan aka Wolverine, 19 Jul 2018This is a tricky situation. First of all Android is open-so... moreOh god, what i just hear? Lets say that Android is Open Source but it's owned by google. They simply can keep update sources for itself. It means that last open source android version leaves at android P. So practicly if you want something new in the future you will need to buy Pixel phone or any OS that other companies build (like Tizen from samsung). And last but worst option would be to buy an Samsung or Huawei Android device for example but there is a catch. If they pay to google to provide sources of new version it means higher price, less updates. So google can do whatever they want. and EU is just wrong there just like you. You actually can unninstall Play Store and services on any android device. BUT there is also catch. Many games require Play Games and Play Services. And devs aren't forced to implement that requirement but thats just simpler than building own server. Imagine that every dev have it's own. Noone could control personal information steal. It will just become more risky. So as EU punish google they punish own peaople too. There isn't any good outcome instead of refunding money to google.

      just dont worth

If only Ubuntu hadn't given up on their mobile OS. It could have been the perfect OS.

LOL! They just want to earn money from Google since they we're seeing that Google's profit is boosting from time to time and since they are greedy, they want to have it also. Tell those idiots to make their own and don't just get the one's that is already existing!

Dearest knowledgeable friends.Nowadays more than 5 billion people use cellphones and half of it are using android system and its apps by choice from the Google play store.A person has a choice to download and install android programs or even disable any apps and even Google play store freely . I can't deny this fact that Google search engine is the fastest and the most best trustworthy search engine worldwide and EU decision is unfair and wrong and deprives people from choosing the best choice and create limitations !OK other search engine and apps must prove to people that they are better actually. The EU verdict is wrong while other OS brands also create android apps and sell them freely without any restrictions!Hopefully other knowledgeable seeking followers write their objections to this unfair verdict to the EU by collecting signatures plus whatever they think are right. Justice Rights supports people's rights of justice....Thanks gsmArena plus mentioned commentators for writing facts freely for their interests of knowledge sharing....

                I miss my windowsphone. . .

This is a tricky situation. First of all Android is open-source therefore Google technically can't charge for it. It can however charge for Play Services that includes Play Store. Infact they do charge for it, by preloading them on every Android and collecting data of every user. I think OEMs should have the option of not pre-installing or allowing uninstallation of Google Apps individually. People should have the choice of using just the Play Store minus Google Search, Assistant, Keyboard, Chrome, Duo etc. Whoever wants it can install it. And OEMs like Samsung don't have to have duplicated apps on their devices. But there will be options to install whichever a user wants. Pre-installing and not giving an option to uninstall is a bad practice and should come to an end.
Google should trust the worth of its apps and give the option to users to install them by their own free will. For Google its all about free and unrestricted access to Android users data which is evil.

By the way, if the Eu wants to have store and OS, they can support the Sailfish OS so they should make their own apps and things but doesn't have any right to ask Google to remove from their OS anything.

EU fining Google is wrong and Google has every right to put whatever they want on the OS because it's their OS and truly ecosystem is free which everyone benefits from. So why change the ecosystem when it's not broken????
In this fight, the consumers which are us are going to pay the price no the EU. We like the Android as the way it is. So if people doesn't to you use Google's proprietary apps, then they can use alternatives since the Android phones comes big storages with expandable SD cards

Total bs. The EU wants the app store but not Google apps. This is the problem. Every manufacturer can use android without the store and without Google apps. But these eu pigs want google to give the store with no conditions

Android is FREE. there's a fork of android called AOSP where everyone is free to use, modify and distribute (like the one on Kindle). BUT if you want to use play store and the other, you must get the google app suites and certification. Don't blame google for including their applications suite, your phone manufacturer requested it from them. Don't blame google too for needing them to get ALL their apps when they request a certification. Because the certification process is FREE. Google is a company afterall, not a charitable foundation. NO ONE force you to use android from google. There's a lot of operating system around

"free distribution of its own apps [...] earns the company money"
                            hm...
personally i don't mind Google stuff being pre-installed. what i do mind is that i can't just uninstall it on stock. that aside, if this really was just about money, doesn't the Play Store, which doesn't seem to be part of this whole issue, generate the bulk of their Android profits? that seems like a good enough incentive to keep developing the Android platform.
i feel like this isn't a monetary problem, at least not immediately, but one of potentially losing market share and user data

I want an Android phone without Chrome, without Google search right in the middle of the screen, and a phone that does not send all my information back to Google, even after you have turned off most settings.

Well, people prefer not to have this, instead, apple m*ns fight google m*ns who fight microsoft m*ns... and everybody is happy with their data flying around, no innovation, prices going sky-rocket without a f* reason.
