Andy Rubin (Creator of Android) will be PISSED OFF as his creation for a FREE and an open source Android may be going the way of the dodo.

Kiyasuriin, 19 Jul 2018It's not as easy as you may think sonu... I think that's how it should be. There is nothing wrong with pre-installed Google suite but we should be able to remove them. Bloat is bloat whether it's from Google or Samsung. Why should we give Google a special treatment, after all it's for user's convenience?

Open mind, 19 Jul 2018Hello Could anyone explain why EU forces Google to remov... moreBecause Google allows other companies to use Android for free, but Apple does not allow any other company to use its OS.
So the ansver is that you can only get Android phones from Google and not from anyone else and there is no problem anymore...

AnonD-152638, 19 Jul 2018I think EU is right. I would love to see new phones coming... moreYou seem biased.. I find it funny how load of people call google tax doggers I mean Apple do the same and they use there brand to get away with it.. Also the options to change default stuff on apple is more limited.. than google to disable stuff..

Kiyasuriin, 19 Jul 2018Not neccesarily. However we can't even know.At least going by statistics of Google projects we can say it most likely to fail.

                    I think EU is right.
I would love to see new phones coming without the google bloat.
There could be a Play store installer on the start screen, as well as other alternatives if the maker wishes.
At the play-store Google could have an "install Google Experience pack" button at the top. But they should also offer all their apps as separate installs. That way inexperienced users could simply install the Google Experience pack, complete with all the bloat google wants to have installed on the units.
Whereas experienced users could pick the google apps, they actually want. I would probably install several of Google apps, and that is probably true for a lot of other more experienced users as well. At least as long as Google has the best apps in some regards. But it would make it easier for the competition.

I do think EU should go after Apple.
Apple Music and App store are clearly misuses of their large position in one market.
They may not be anywhere as big as Android, but they are clearly taking advantage of their OS to make money from other services.

Google is already making so much money by selling our data why do they need more? At least those iPhone users can claim their data is not stolen by Apple.

I blame the CEO, ever since he came around the overall progress has slowed, the overpriced pixel phones were launched the second one being buggy af and to top it all Google delivered its worst version of Android while this guy was in charge of the OS.

sr777, 19 Jul 2018Sell phones without an OS in EU and give the users the choi... moreSo you'll have to include a guide. AND EVEN THEN 80% of the people won't know what to do, better give a completely "naked" OS with basic functionality like any avarage phone, include a pack of google in the phone that is encrypted. And let the user decide if they want to get the pack, or get rid of it and get whatever you want

My answer to this is that I don't care if Google & the phone manufacturer will preload my phone with millions of applications as long as I can remove them.

Finally Europe shows it also cares about their people. This huge corporations need to be silenced. They have way to much power. That is not healthy for nobody. Not even for them selves.

But my sense says C is the most logical option. The new android is Fuchsia. So google can charge 5$ for using Fuchsia OS.
