Serves them right., we don't need large phones ala-tablet. 3.5-4" is good enough like nokia phones.

It does not matter. It is gonna be just another Samsung-Mamsung with stupendously large screen. Another yellow box, another buggy android. After all the 4S is here, so I do not bother anymore. I already found my Christmas present on October 4.

AnonD-20989, 08 Oct 2011daddy yellow what if they release thousand android phones e... moreYes lots of new phones means competition and competion means better quality but it doesnt happen to android phones..every android phones have the same set of features 4.3 inch screen 5-8mp camera and android os..thy dont have anything new or different from one another..on the other hand apple releasing 1 phone every 16 months is good for us consumers because the $600 phone we just bought doesnt get outdated in a month..for eg if i bot gs2 a month back my phone would be outdated by sensation xe today or even kf i bought sensation xe nexus prime wud outdate my phone making anything i buy a bad investment in 1 month..

Funny how they copied the "swipe" transitions from Nokia's N9 (running Meego Harmattan). This company is pathetic when it comes to ripping off ideas; Guess google have never heard of the term "intellectual proerty".

@yellow: The big deal about this phone is that it will be the first phone running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and it will also be one of the most advanced Samsung phones on the market.

I really hope they don't use Steve Job's demise as an excuse to cover for any other delays!
As a consumer was looking forward to pick this up but as a follower of tech I can appreciate the 'moment of silence'.
But this raises a few questions: If they intended to delay this as a mark of respect to Jobs, why the initial announcement? I smell a goof-up. And the article states that there is an official statement... but no official source? how the? what the? that one doesn't make sense to me...

I have a feeling that they're bumping up the camera specs to 8MP :-P 5MP seems small compared to 8MP that other phones offer, no matter how good the sensor. It's the fault of critics on other sites, just looking at numbers on a spec sheet and not having any real understanding of how the technology really works. I'm an ASIC Design Engineer at PowerVR and it really gets on my nerves how critical and mouthy some bloggers get. I still visit GSMArena though, they are one of only a few sites whose editors can give a good, unbiased and critical review of a phone (I love that you guys do a frequency response test) but it just annoys me that other sites mouth off after only reading the specs. If you can make a better phone, dual-core GPU, quad-core CPU, that runs at 200/400MHz and 1.5GHz respectively, whilst keeping the power consumption and area as low as possible, then by all means please do, else shut up and make do with what's currently in production. Rant aside, I look forward to the Nexus Prime being made available :-) you guys will love how thin it is :-)

In that way, there will be a bigger impact on people especially to those who are thinking to buy 4S. Just like Apple did way back 2007, they captured the attention of every people (who got bored on old school phone) and created a remarkable point on smartphone history.
