I hope Nokia is secretly developing Meego because I don't see WP7 as their saviour. Nokia with WP7 will be just another brand with WP7. Apple iOS is ruling in USA so I don't see any great success for Nokia WP7 in USA. In Europe situation is more mixed. Apple is popular but not in such large numbers like in USA. Android is very popular and Symbian is still holding up. I don't thik Symbian users will switch to WP7 because Nokia is launching WP7. WP7 is different platform similar to iOS and Symbian user don't like WP7. I think Nokia made a grave mistake with WP7 and in next year that will be clear.

Its going Elops way, Nokia will be destroyed, just as he has planned. But why he move so slowly? Are there shareholders trying to stop his rampage?

Goodluck elop, im sure u can do it, u can destroy this company. Im sorry you had to launch a good phone, the N9, but we can forgive you, since its almost 2 years since last time a good Nokia came out (the N900).

I wonder how Elop feels, he is on the postwar eras most destructive mission attempted till date.

A device with WP Tango, apollo, or whatever, HD resolution 1280x720, quad-core processor, LTE, 12 megapixel camera, and planted all the best features of Nokia and Microsoft I will definitely buy.

I was a big fan of Nokia, but all those OS are outdated and no applications for them compared to Android and iOS. Nokia should start making Android OS phones otherwise soon they will end up nowhere. Analyze where was Samsung in mobile market, now see they are No.1 in phone segment beating Apple. Nokia change ur plans, Windows 7 phone will be flop, i guarantee it.

this totally goes to mr. Elopes shoulder. When there were so many symbian belle phones in the pipeline, why on the earth he pointed out that as burning platform??? Moreover there should have been some cheapo n9 version. The hardware(processor, gpu etc)used there was almost 2 years old, so why not make some nokia 705/706 etc with the same hardware as n9 but at the price point of 701????

AnonD-16334, 20 Oct 2011microsoft would make them much pressure to sell or partners... moreMeeGO wasn't a good idea from the start, also thers is almost NO MeeGO devices, and no other phone manufacturers want to join to MeeGO in first place..The only one that enter was Nokia and see whats happen to them...

Sorry but MeeGO was DOA from the first place, if there is no interest, if there is not more manufacturers joining MeeGO train and if there is not Apps at all MeeGO was market to be doomed.

Elop is flop, 20 Oct 2011Elop is really stupid for ditching Symbian and Meego. It's ... moreAre you aware one of the main reason Nokia don't goes to Android is Nokia Maps

Are you really on to TRASH Nokia Maps and get Google Maps instead that isn't fre at all (loose the free of Nokia Maps updates) for going Android....

That's one of the main reasons why Nokia and Google don't mix.

And sorry but Symbian is OLD News, no matter how they dressed up, Symbian is an Old OS.

microsoft would make them much pressure to sell or partnership their company to them...wp7 would also be a big flop,i've no doubt about that..they should have used meego as their primary os to devolop..meego is much more attractive to common people if they looking forward to affordable devices ..

Shame they couldn't have pushed maemo / meego - the N900 was by far the best phone / tablet pc in recent years.

Elop is really stupid for ditching Symbian and Meego. It's looking really good now, but users will refrain from buying it simply because it will no longer be supported.

And now Nokia is declining, they gamble their fate on a very young OS, the WP7. Besides, WP7 user base is really low. It'll take a very long time for Nokia to rise back up again, that if WP7 turns out to be successful.

Meanwhile, Apple, Samsung and HTC gains more customers and continue to hold Nokia down.

Seriously, keep Symbian and Meego. Maybe even go for Android. Going for Android would be a really smart move. ICS is looking really smooth and polished than ever.
